  1. Happy 50th Mike, can't think of a better way to celebrate than a boat on the Broads, hope you have a lovely time Grace
  2. I wish him all the best of luck and hope it goes well for him, the fact he does a lot for sick and disabled children makes him a really nice bloke in my opinion. Having said that, it's a pity he wasn't the real Johnny Depp, I would have offered to be his assistant any day and completely free of charge Grace
  3. Hi Alan Glad you got Jessica to her new home safely, brilliant photos by the way Grace
  4. 'There is always a downside with any way of life, but with boating at least you are on the water' Alan, that's exactly how I feel, I read somewhere that it's better to have a bad day on the water (if that's possible) than a good day in the office or something like that, so Mark, roll up them sleeves and clean lol Grace
  5. Just read it, what a brilliant story thanks for the link Iain. Janice, lets hope Her Royal Highness doesn't invite the other royal girls on board for one of those dreaded hen parties, one wouldn't want to be seen flashing at Frank (mowjo) it's just not proper. Grace
  6. Alan, it is a monkey but it's dressed as a duck, have you not seen things like that when you've had a couple, I know I have lol Grace
  7. Hi Alan Have only been out to see on a Ferry to France and that was rough and quite enough for me lol, so don't blame you for chickening out as you put it, hope it goes well next weekend for you. Grace
  8. Hi Kadensa Good choice of Boat, we've hired Dream Gem (very similar) in the past. Don't know about sacrificing overseas holidays but I would sacrifice my husband for Broadlander lol Grace
  9. Hi Mandy Just looked at Freedom Boats website and some very nice boats on there that would certainly suit your requirements. We don't have dogs so never been an issue for us. Let us know what you decide Grace
  10. We haven't hired the Blenhiem but did get to look around her a couple of years ago, very nice and comfy for 4 so should be ok for your crew. Not sure about last minute availability at Easter but have you looked at Richardsons, very good range of boats and good value for money in my opinion. If you have not already come across it there is a topic running about wi fi on Richardsons boats at the moment, it's in the Broads Related Chat section. Have a lovely time on what ever boat you choose. Grace
  11. "I was Joking" I know John So was I, mean't to have said I'll just hide Grace
  12. Thank you John will tell hubby, he does the mooring at the bridge, I just hide. Grace
  13. Alan, I'm glad the web cam has gone at the bridge, with people feeding swans, sitting at the hotel or just standing on the bridge witnessing our worst mooring attempts ever lol. When we wild moor and not a soul about we do it with perfection. Grace
  14. With you on that one Iain, we have cruised under the bridge many times without incident, I have never taken a boat through myself but my husband used to love it, in fact when we first started boating I used to run and hide in the cabin when we approached a bridge and if a sailie thingy came along you would'nt see me for dust lol. Nothing against the web cams, just would'nt want to be moored near one. Grace
  15. Good points Alan but I would find it such a bind to have to keep doing my hair and make up, one has to look ones best for the cameras you know lol Grace
  16. Looking at the web cams today and although fantastic for getting a Broads fix and boat owners to keep an eye on their boats would find it a bit intrusive if I had a camera with the ability to take snap shots pointed at me all day long. Also excellent as a deterrent for would be criminals I imagine, how do you guys feel about them, be interesting to read other opinions. Grace
  17. Good luck with delivering Jessica next week, hope the weather stays good for you, let us know how it goes Grace
  18. Not sorted yet, just bought a little boat for weekends on the river Medway, funds are a bit tight at the moment lol, will be booking soon though, hopefully Symphony if still available for our dates, thank you for asking Grace
  19. Had to double check I had'nt put Mithers Day as topic title, I thought you men moaned every day tin hat on lol Grace
  20. I know a couple of days early will be away weekend and no computer but a very Happy Mothers day to all the mums on here, have a lovely day. Grace
  21. Iain so sorry, hope you are ok. Grace
  22. Agree with the above, we too forgot it was there a couple of times, but for us the fun we had with the dinghy far outweighed the drawbacks and the kids just loved it. Iain (Broadscot) you an Angel, I don't think so Grace
  23. Iain you have got to be joking, my family did take some pics but no way am I letting you lot see them lol Grace
  24. Hi Andy Take it from me it's a lot easier getting on and off the dinghy from the bank when moored up than it is mud weighted on a Broad especially if your wearing a little summer dress, really not very dignified lol, don't know about falling in and drowning but my family nearly died laughing watching me trying to get back on the bloody boat. Grace
  25. Thank you for that Alan, very informative, sorry to have hijacked your thread Grace
