  1. I did read the advert recently for the Liana trip boat operator will also collect mooring fees, help with boats mooring and cover the visitors centre when required.

Not sure they can justify the £10 fee to cover staffing costs when they are expected to cover other roles as well.

    Indian owned British.😉

Good to know that Chargemaster, who operate EV charging stations across the UK, have been bought by BP.  I guess that as fossil fuels are phased out, they need to maintain a means to extort the public, when they already generate unimaginable profits.

No it’s definitely British.  Opened rear passenger door light comes on, close door light stays on. Open door light on close door light still on, turn off car and restart light goes off.  Number 2. Start car dash all lit. Put car into drive dash goes blank, turn off car and restart dash comes back on into drive and dash stays on what the flip !!!!

Ok Folks, time to resurrect the old story. Malanka is coming to the end of the first part of her long term restoration. Hull is almost complete, transom frame is about to be started( it’s going to be made of laminated oak). No paint this time, it’s going to be red utile.

There’s still  lots to do ( cabin side etc) the transom and some keel work. Then she’ll be ready for floating. Not quite sure when but things are moving in the right direction. We are going to bring her to the show in August even if we have to carry her there.

Enough for now, please don’t worry she’ll be right sooner than you think.

cant wait to see the finished result.

  4. We were out two weekends ago and the heating went on at 11-00 Friday morning and didn't go off until Sunday afternoon. I normally turn the thermostat  down to around 12 at night.  Its easier to just keep the chill off rather than letting the boat go cold and having to warm it up again.

Unfortunately a boat has tripped the electricity hook-ups , grrrrrr, needs to be reset in the BA office on the staithe  have phoned the BA and unexpectedly they can’t sent anyone out today at all but “possibly tomorrow” , likelyhood of that ?

Glad it’s  not £10 tonight for the facilities .

Glad we chose Horning Staithe then   Lots of boats about staithe is full.

I've never been to Boulters but I've seen their narrow entrance many times on Russell's and Dave's videos, usually with moored boats there making it even harder. It must be tricky even in good conditions. If it was me I'd be tempted to go to Southgate's instead but I don't doubt their fuel prices are higher.

As long as you can get near enough to the entrance the lads will pull you in on the ropes, they have done it many times for us as normally we cannot turn round in the basin.

Zebedee - Spare key procurement - Yesterday did not go well

Got to the dealership, out he came with new key, which did open the door, but it doesn't have the capability of disabling the alarm & immobiliser and as a result won't start the engine either!  About as much use as a chocolate fireguard

So, he said he would look into it and ring me in due course which he did later on in the day.  The upshot of their research is that they can no longer provide one.  2023 and BMW can't provide a spare key for one of their own marques - Sheesh (Or stronger words to that effect)  A full refund was offered and accepted but doesn't solve the issue

I have used my circle of contacts and have a number to ring going down the non dealership route - We will see

    Griff

On your age of BMW the key holds all the service data and mileage , I thought when you said the price it was very cheap the key they gave you is a basic key without the chip. These are available, a channel I watch called salvage rebuilds often get cars without keys but they normally pay around £200 for a chipped one. Must be someone close who can program one for you.
