A cunning plan to make sure West Ham do make Europe :-)
Seriously - it's a very, very, bad idea and wil have huge implications on National and International football

I must be lucky as every time I have hired a boat i have got under potter heigham and wroxham bridges with no issues whatsoever, its just a matter of which boat you hire.
Or how heavy the crew are - want to reconsider the excercise regime, Grendel ?

Most will have 'gone through' but I did a quick check on the way home and there 3 in Neatishead and 3 in Barton. Look a mix of hire and owned

I think I counted 7 liveaboards moored at Sutton yesterday.
I don't have a problem with that as long as they recommence respecting the 24 x Hr rule once the rivers start getting used again

There were 4 or 5 down Paddy's Lane / Barton Turf a week ago, so assume they may have relocated ( do Pelicans migrate south for winter ? ) Likewise re as long as they are mobile not a problem.

Incidentally, someone on the FB group has posted that the sunken houseboat has gone from the Sutton Stalham triangle junction ... I'm sure you all know where I mean.
Really? - And about time too.
I'll have a look-see as and when I'm passing Monday or Tuesday
Griff
Assuming this is it’s remains moored in Barton Turf
-
Just a case of unbolting it and turning it 180 degrees - after having dropped the mast of course
-
Popped down the boat yesterday evening, and as it was getting dark thought I'd test the nav lights.... only to realise I have the masthead tricolour on backwards. Green to port, red to stbd, white to front. The bow light is the right way round though - hence the title
-
I see the Pelican has migrated again - been up Paddy's Lane for the past couple of days
-
I was going to say a canoe, so great minds

also the decks are not really big enough to land the planes on

So some people hated the idea of Identity cards.
Might as well have them now and be required to carry them.
One card holds your id barometric details, drive license and vaccination.
£100 fine if you cant produce it.
Are we a free country or just a controlled country pretending to be one?
Yep - and if you do have a valid reason not to have had the jab, that'd be on there too. Not sure about the fine idea, but in principle I've agreed with an ID card for years ( having carried one for all my adult life so far )
-
Ah - the heady days of getting forged proof of something to get into a pub or club. That takes me back

Actually remember that many do have inboard engines so you can motor if you want to!! But people want their boats to be like their houses and you are never going to get that in your average sailing boat! Who wants a boat you can hardly stand in, let alone sit down comfortably in!!!
I often describe mine as my man cave. Good analogy - often dingey, can't stand up fully, somewhat damp, and if I haven't emptied the pota poti recently has a smell often found in caves ( and underpasses )

Think it's funny they want us to have a vaccine passport before we can visit!
I did get them to put the batch sticker in my RAF 'jab book' so do effectivly have a complete jab history for the last 36 years

... getting to the bottom of the barrel now. Had a text about 30mins ago inviting me for the jab. Responded immediately and got first thing tomorrow in Hoveton. Happy days

Devils advocate. My 'local' Council Tax is paid to North Norfolk Council - it is defined as a local tax by Government, so I could argue anywhere in that area is fair game
-
No, it's cleary empty. I'll let you off it YOU emptied it ( thereby hangs a tale. RAF, parade on a Sunday in Norwich. Barrel put on for the victims. Being a Sunday only 6 turn up. 2 Driving so one pint and scarper. Remaining 4 still there at 19:00 when bar opened and defending 'their' barrel with drunken billigerance )
-
Initial outrage, then.... how many boats will this actually stop getting into Norwich ? Carrow is 14 foot.
Checking the heights before I posted that, the A47 is 35' My mast is 30 foot, plus the 4 foot from waterline to deck - hmmm, dare I.......
-
Well according to the EDP today Wroxham, Horning, Stalham & Potter are all at zero reported posititive COVID tests
Hope it can stay like that

I spend around £200 in a normal month on petrol - that's been about £50, but i've burnt £300 of oil since December, plus increased electricity of around £40 / month.
As you say, grendel, not a lot in it.
BUT I suspect many firms will use this as an excuse for no pay rises

Whats beginning to grate at my work is the effective pay rise those that work at home had.
no travel expense for instance, food etc and more time at home.
Some parts are grumbling about removing the London weighting allowance and pushing for more annual leave to compensate.
For me, all decisions are painfully slow, no cross flow of ideas and the gap between management and workers has grown.
My heating bill with school out and 3 of us at home has sky-rocketted

Yep - had a shop manger locally recently say that they are getting a lot of older people coming in with no mask " well I've had the jab now"
