On Saturdays even in winter the Horning Staithe moorings fill up. Last Saturday I had to wait a while for a dayboat to move on to get the last electric spot. Sunday night (no electric) I was the only boat at Womack and Monday night the only boat at Ranworth.

They had a visit in 1976 when they had a trip from Horning staithe to Ranworth on Albert a wooden broom 45 skippered by Martin Broom. They visited the church at Ranworth were there are pictures of the visit.

Turn left towards Gayes staithe hands it's a few minutes walk.

You can moor at The Broads Boating Co. at Acle. It's a fiver overnight redeemable against meals in Pedro's.

We once hired a Pirate of Hearts from Thorpe for a week and on the last morning going back to the boatyard the boat broke down. The boatyard came out and towed us back in. On checking out the boat they informed us we had run out of diesel. We did go south and North in that week which we have done many times and have always got money back on our fuel deposit. We never got anything back this time but were not charged any extra.

She seemed to be floating fine yesterday when I walked past.

Are these the moorings that were to be provided as part of the planning agreement with the new basin that has been dug out?

I bought my boat (u858) 3 year's ago and this dvd came with the boat stating it was the construction of u858 and on watching it you could see it was u857. A month or so ago my brother in law came on the boat and after a day or so stated that he thought he had holidays on this boat as a child. He looked at his old photo's and realized it was u857 that it was on, so I gave him the dvd to look at and he downloaded it to you tube. Thanks Bryan for the pictures of u858 Moon Light. She is now called Daisy Chain. Moon Light and Moon Tide went onto George Smith as Rachel M and Jennifer M. Rachel M then went into private ownership and Jennifer M was transferred to another waterway in 2014. Ferry Marina had at least 2 of the Sheerlines as Bronze Emblems.One was sold Last year and one remains. Daisy Chain as she is today.
