  1. Was there from just before 18.00 to about 19.30hrs Had Ian Stewart with me (Ian’s Towing Services) 😊
  2. Got the Clock & Barometer set installed today......
  3. Lovely meal in the Bridge tonight. Phil & Vanessa and the whole team have done a grand job of making everyone welcome and safe
  4. Got the warning on Safari just now......Thanks for letting us know all is well and under control
  5. Weather forecast for today didn't look great......They got it wrong though, It's been a lovely day in the most part. Tonights last of the sunlight.
  6. I'll be there Monday evening. Be sure to say hello if anyone on here is going as well
  7. Anyone considering this would be safe in the knowledge that Broad Ambition is kept in stunning condition by her owners.
  8. Well done for saving the day. Certainly has been a windy couple of days.....Such a change from Sunday ! Beginning to calm down a little now, hopefully a more peaceful nights sleep onboard tonight .
  9. Cheers, We have had her three years now and have enjoyed her very much. She offers a lot more space on board than our previous two boats. Hoping to take her out on the salty stuff soon for some further adventures .
  10. Been really lucky with the weather today and managed to give Lady Emma a good external clean. Tomorrow isn't looking so good so I shall busy myself fitting the new clock and barometer instead. Oh......and put some air in the deflated fenders!
  11. Popped along to the Essex boat boot jumble last Sunday. Typically the weather was a bit grim, grey, cold and windy after days of sunshine beforehand Anyhow, it was nice to see a return (of sorts) to a more normal time where peeps can go out and about. It wasn't too busy and on the whole people were respecting others 'space', so I felt comfortable being there. Managed to pick up a lovely Clock & Barometer set whilst there.......It is a treat for Lady Emma to say sorry to her for the months of not seeing her through lockdown ! Don't forget there is the Norfolk Boat Jumble at the Norwich Showground on Sunday 6th June .
  12. Thanks for the kind offer Griff Sadly too large for Lady Emma.........No, that is not a euphemism We have contacted JPC and are waiting for new stock of the Isotherm Cruise 49 to arrive. Decided that a new fridge would be the best move. So....toilet fixed, fridge soon to be replaced. Just got to work out what has happened to the 12volt supply to the fridge and give Lady Emma a proper spring clean!
  13. Thanks for that, I shall further investigate when back on board. In the meanwhile ........Anyone selling a 50 litre fridge on here? Mine has been looked at and it's terminal. I have put a post up in the 'Wanted' section. Worth an ask before buying a new one at their rather silly prices.
  14. My fridge on board has been given it's death certificate. It's dead, no more, deceased! Before I sink a large wad of cash on a new one, thought it was worth an ask on here if anyone happens to have a good condition 50 litre 12/24v compressor fridge that they might want to sell? The size would need to be (in new money) H 54cm, W 38cm, D50cm or near as. A Waeco Crx-50 or equivalent Dometic, Isotherm etc would be the sort of thing. Cheers, Jeff.
  15. Quick progress report from the boat. We now have a functioning toilet ..... Seacock/inlet was open but a bit of vigorous back on forth and pumping (oh err) got the flow going again 😊 Fridge.....Em! No power to back of fridge. Trip and switch on panel all working as should but no 12 volts at the connection behind fridge. I have the boats schematics here. The cable from switch panel goes into the engine room but sadly somewhere along that path the cable has been replaced as the colours don’t marry up to the wiring diagram . I’ll meter all the cables through and hopefully find out what is what. Of course that doesn’t solve the problem of the fridge stat not working properly in the first place so I’ll need to address that issue as well. In the meanwhile, lunch at the Bridge for me shortly and then the small matter of the Italian Grand Prix to watch this afternoon. Sky Go is a useful thing .
  16. Cheers for all the replies folks. I'll be up at the boat Sun/Mon so I will let you know of any findings.
  17. Certainly will......I'm feeling cheap is the better option if I can help it
  18. Sadly not, tried that and also contact cleaner on the potentiometer to no avail.
  19. Hi John, Inlet valve to toilet is open......Blowing through sounds fun Always use a little Olive Oil (I'm posh) and toilet has been fine for the last three years.....Until nw eek! Leisure batteries all fine as all other systems including inverter working normally. We are on shore power thankfully so things like charger, tube heaters, dehumidifier and on board MiFi/CCTV all have been running throughout lockdown. The stat had been playing up as previously mentioned, not clicking on/off regardless of setting and then sometimes working okay for weeks on end. Now fridge dead as a Do Do. I'll pull her out when I'm next up and double check that it has got power. Even if that is just a connection or fuse issue that still won't cure the ongoing fault. My fridge having an identity crisis and morphing itself into a freezer! I would have thought replacement thermostats, compressors etc would be an easy fix considering the prohibitive prices that new (small) marine fridges go for......Then again, maybe not !
  20. Finally got back to the boat after lockdown was eased. Happy to report that in the main she has emerged from her three month period of 'neglect' fairly unscathed ! She is in need of a proper good clean but that can wait until it's a bit warmer. . The two main problems are that the manual toilet does not seem to be pulling water up. It's flushing without water but when trying to pump water into the bowl it feels like there is an airlock and the handle when pushed down springs back up. For the moment I can just use fresh water from the shower head to fill the bowl until such time as I can work out what is wrong.....Plumber I most definitely am not. The main problem is the fridge. Before lockdown it had intermittently started to play up where the thermostat did not seem to switch off. Fridge just would keep on running until everything was frozen solid. This was first noticed when I came back to the boat to find a particularly nice bottle of bubbly had exploded inside the fridge I did try electrical contact spray on the thermostat but that didn't seem to make any difference. Sometimes it would work ok but I started to make sure I turned it off after a few hours of running to act as a sort of manual stat so to speak! Anyhow, got back to the boat and switched it on. Got cold as normal and switched it off overnight. Switched back on the next morning and all seemed fine. Went to the fridge that afternoon and noticed the inside light was off and the icebox had defrosted. The power switch and breaker on the swtich panel are all working fine but the fridge is dead. Didn't have time to pull it out but will do this weekend when I'm next back on board. I'm guessing there is probably a fuse at the back of the fridge (which I can replace) but that doesn't solve the ongoing problem. Anyone on here know of someone who can repair 12 volt marine fridges, before I have to plump on spending a lot of money on a new one?
  21. Finally got to the boat on Tuesday ........... Boat needs a very good clean after months of lockdown neglect, other than that and a couple of small niggles, all is well. This was yesterday at sunset.....what a difference a few days make.......Still needs a clean though
  22. There has been a spate of these (un filled) paper cards being sold on Facebook marketplace, Ebay etc. Also there are 'How To' videos doing the rounds on YouTube showing how to create them on photoshop etc. The adverts selling them seem to get removed as fast as they spring up but I'm guessing some get out and into the wrong hands. I fear that if there are to be Covid passports it will need to be something more official than a paper business card with a couple of dates hand written on them .
  23. Having not been able to visit our boat since December I shudder to think what shade of green she is now
