  1. No that's not the route. I've marked it in red. The missing link to the west is a short detour via Weston Longville. Google Maps will show you the route, but failing that the orange route will probably be a faster one to Ricko's than the one TomTom has shown you - assuming you're travelling at the weekend. I'm not a fan of TomTom these days, mine has been in a drawer for about two years.
  2. Coming from your direction, it makes getting to the Broads quicker. You just have to take a daft detour via Weston Longville, but Google Maps will sort you out. It's more of a hassle going back up North.
  3. Yeah they're not bad. Lower air draft than the sedan, but more than some. The ex Woods one with the Nanni looks lovely.
  4. Google Maps have now added the rest of the A1270 so that should improve things. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  5. It was sold, and as far as I know it's still on the Broads. The owner was related to a member on here.
  6. I'd guess at about £15K fitted, plus any additional work..
  7. A Renown 36, no less. No you don't see many of them these days! Frequently mistaken for an Ideal 40, but a rather different boat.
  8. It's only an R22! That is a completely mad boat though. Can't understand why it's so stubby... Shorter and longer would have looked more elegant?
  9. They are VERY spacious though! The difference in interior space between that and an AF38 or an AF38 Pearl is considerable. Woods have a Pearl up for sale too, although it's not the nicest ex-hire one you'll ever see.
  10. Yeah it's probably a bit overpriced, and no I don't think anyone ever bought one for its performance. The hull I think must have been designed by the neighbouring Parker's Skip Hire rather than Aquafibre
  11. And also an Entrepeneur... https://www.watersidemarinesales.co.uk/boats-for-sale/aquafibre-38-northern.html They're the most spacious 38ft boat you will find, though the hydrodynamics of the hull leave a little bit to be desired. Also the step up from the companionway onto the starboard deck from the cockpit is one of the maddest bits of design I've seen on a boat.
  12. Woods have another Westward here https://www.watersidemarinesales.co.uk/boats-for-sale/westward-38-heatwave.html Same year, but rather less upgraded.
  13. Not many. And a Westward... Never. QED.
  14. I wouldn't say bridges were not an issue - The Westwards have quite a high sheerline and a fairly rectangular cross section. I would think Potter was completely out, which is probably not the case for a Pearl. On the other hand, yes that boat does look to have been loved, and there's quite a lot of space aboard. The addition of a Nanni N4.50 is very much a plus, too.
  15. Not sure exactly what your needs are, but this seems like quite a lot of boat for the money... https://www.nya.co.uk/boats-for-sale/westwood-38-sedan-2/ Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  16. Do you mean the centre-cockpit AF38?
  17. Not sure on iOS, but on Android you tap the post and then there's an option in the bar on the top to edit it (spanner and screwdriver), and then a pop-up appears from which you select 'Edit post'. It's only allowed within around 10 minutes of your original post. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  18. Emissions control systems on diesel vehicles are an absolute joke (in my opinion). All they really achieve is to make diesel cars much less reliable than petrol - Unless regularly driven long distances at a decent speed. Perhaps that's the aim, though. I don't think any car manufacturer actually wants to sell them any more, and modern small-displacement turbo petrol engines have low emissions. And that's what it's all about - Manufacturers are fined by the EU if the average CO emissions of the vehicles they sell are above a certain level. This is where manufacturers like Toyota have been very clever with their (extremely reliable) hybrid system, which has market appeal at last and drives their average CO emissions nice and low. And it's protected by so many patents that no other manufacturer can come even close to copying it. VW's workaround for hybrids is laughable in comparison. Others like Ford have had to go to all sorts of lengths to avoid the fines... I'm told they actually stopped making 2 litre diesels for a period of time in order to avoid the fines for that period. Customers were told some old pony by the dealers and nobody was any the wiser... Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  19. Hire boats seem to mostly use the Wema GPS speedos like this sort of thing.. https://wema.co.uk/collections/gauges-1/products/digital-gps-speedometer?variant=29345614215 More ££ than a handheld, but once fitted it's always there and you don't have to mess about with batteries or having your phone balanced at the helm with the screen constantly on.
  20. I bet that flies with a 43 Nanni! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  21. If you can get one within budget, a 'genuine' Bounty 27 aft cockpit (the later models with part-moulded interior) are a good boat for the money. Safari 25's are a good boat, but the beds are not suitable for taller people.
  22. Would that be the one named after Trigger's tool of the trade?
  23. No, they just have poor taste. Allegedly. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  24. A lot of yards do tend to fit the very simple (on/off switch and a temperature knob) thermostats as hirers find them much easier. The more sophisticated model has its uses, as you can set it to stay on for a certain time - for example long enough that you'll be in bed when it goes off. Similarly, you can set it to come on in the morning at a sensible time so you're not cold when you wake up.
