  1. Blue recycle. Brown garden and food waste. Green landfill and a calendar with brown green and blue squares when they go out
  2. If you keep using Amazon Griff you'll have to be like my neighbour and get two blue bins
  3. 10ft at average high water 2ft to 2ft 6ins rise and fall
  4. I suppose end off March is better than Easter 21st April still doesn't help me, booked next week because boat in May is 7ft 8ins air draft too high for bridge.
  5. We go out the day before you, would think it feasable that things like water and Wroxham Bridge pilot would be on from the start of the season
  6. My brother hired Grecian Girl early 80s
  7. No but hope it calms down for next week
  8. Just packing for next weeks break on San Domingo. Fifty five years married and still don't understand why women have to take so many clothes on holiday, anyone would think we were going for a year. In the animal kingdom the males are the showy ones why do humans have to be different
  9. Especially when you don't need them I manage quite well without bow and stern thrusters and not bothered about a TV never mind one in every cabin
  10. Only looked at the price earlier but reading the restrictions on cruising it's very expensive. The question is why, similar boats at others yards don't have these restrictions and by todays standards of broads cruisers it's not classed as a large boat.
  11. I think I'll carry on with Richos classic fleet we've got four weeks holiday for less than a week on that I know we haven't the same luxury but I don't want all that flash I still travel on and see the same broads

    Loddon Staithe

He was a tallish guy with a beard, helped us to tie up then asked for £5.00 said we were only having drink so he asked how long I said no more than an hour so £2.00. I find Acle good pay your money eat in Pedros get your money back
  13. He's got a long way to go to catch me
  14. No thanks Griff I'll stick to the ready made with the elastic

We were charged £2.00 for half an hour at Salhouse last year we only stopped to make a drink and sit for a few minutes instead of drinking while travelling
  16. You dragged that one up just had a go can still tie it (second attempt)
  17. Remember that first time we came on the broads, left arm in a sling and hand a ball of crepe bandage wife and eldest daughter ready with ropes, willing helpers took ropes and then didn't know what to do I then flicked a clove hitch on one handed and left rope coiled by the post they then used the rest of the rope up to make we were tied up well
  18. Hi folks just put this on for a joke see what reaction I got. Alan I hope thats not the seven knots I looked at the other day he couldn't do two half hitches and his double sheet bend left a lot to be desired, certainly wouldn't fancy being on a bosuns chair at the top of a BP tankers mast and relying on that. PS probably should have said Clove hitch and Round turn and two half hitches
  19. Just practising my crossed clover knot and turn round double hitch ready for next weeks first Broads transfusion of the year
  20. Sorry, should have said Clive. Colin Richardson was an old mate of mine
  21. It's raining here so it probably is in Donny too
  22. This was when we were staying in a cottage just off the staithe called Poplars doesn't seem to be there now any one know anything about it. We also had a lovely varnished day boat on hire from Richos called Magnor I believe Colin Richardson has it now
  23. Thats now Fred I'm talking about 1980
  24. I used to go to the one at Goole and I think most of the stalls are the same ones and travel around to all the boat jumbles. There is quite a lot of as you say car boot tat and the new stuff you would probably get a better deal elsewhere
  25. When I was fishing where the leccy point is there were no moorings, water or electricity just a bush with a kingfisher in who was catching more than me though I did catch a bat
