  1. Tonight’s entertainment has started! The lads on the two rafted boats are now jumping from roof to roof! We’re waiting for the splash!!! Chris
  2. Now it’s getting a bit tight up there! Chris
  3. It’s getting tight here! 3 yachts have turned up and they have managed to squeeze in! Photo shows two hire boats with lads on rafted up!! And still got hire boats coming down from upstream!!! Chris
  4. The Dog Inn not serving food! Apparently the chef who is Bulgarian, has gone back to Bulgaria because his wife has had a baby and he hasn’t come back!!! Sign outside the pub advertising for chef, waitresses and kitchen help!! Chris
  5. Which boat were you? We’ve been here since lunchtime. Chris
  6. Not seen one of these with a mast like that before! Very nice 😊 (and I’m referring to the object in the background 😂😂) Chris
  7. Moored up at Ludham bridge for the day having had a pump out at the boatyard prior to mooring up the other side way past the watering point! Lovely weather and now just watching the boats pass to and fro!! The guy at the boatyard was very helpful and pleasant so gave him a tip as well! Looks like we’ll be eating on board tonight as the dog inn is a little further away than expected. (Just had a woodie go past - Merlin!) Chris
  8. Leisurely departure from Wroxham at about 8.30 this morning and headed towards Wroxham Broad where we chucked (well lowered!) the mud weight while we had breakfast etc. Now gently poodling down the Bure behind another cruiser and about 4 day boats behind us, one of which to the annoyance of an oncoming cruiser decided he liked the upstream side of the river! After much gesticulating the day boat thought better of it and came back over to the correct side! Next stop is Ludham for a pump out and then hopefully moor up the other side of the bridge as per the advice given earlier. Chris
  9. Nothing like leftover cold pizza for breakfast the next morning! Chris
  10. Brilliant, many thanks! Chris
  11. Thank you for the advice CC, yes I’ve seen the chaos/carnage there on YouTube!! Do you mean the furthest end before the bridge or after going under it? Chris
  12. Thinking of maybe popping in to the Dog Inn tomorrow if we can get a mooring space at Ludham bridge! Anyone visited it recently and got any comments!! Chris
  13. That might be down to my lack of local knowledge! They each have their own distinct logo and I’ve noticed that NBD advertise holiday accommodation and hire cruisers and Faircraft only advertise hire cruisers?! They appear to share the same check in office here in Wroxham. Chris
  14. Now at Wroxham nicely moored up in NBD mooring adjacent to the car park. Had to go into the far end of Faircraft to fill up with water as no spaces available. Shuffled round to the moorings in front of the pub (also Faircraft) so as to keep an eye out for a free mooring over at NBD!! Sods law, as soon as moored up in front of the pub, a mooring became free across at NBD so slowly manouvered over and using the thrusters (Girlie buttons in some peoples eyes ) perfectly squeezed in and now here until tomorrow morning. Cracking weather so far! Also managed to dodge the three Broads pleasure boats before they left so that was good timing Chris
  15. What a cracking morning!! 0700 hrs and looking good for the rest of the day! Soon be time for bacon and egg sarnies! Chris
  16. Sat 4 Sep 21. Left Thorne Dyke about 9 ish this morning after a sausage baguette breakfast and coffee. Reversed successfully out of the dyke and poodles up towards Ranworth, had a detour round South Waltham Broad (very nice!) before arriving at Ranworth about 11 ish. Very lucky and moored up on the last spot before the day boat/dinghy staithe (where the electric boat is moored!). Hooked up to shore power (£1.52p left on the meter!!! Bonus!!). Visited the church as you do, and had a leisurely afternoon back on the boat. Just returned from eating in the Malsters (not as good as the lion at Thorne but filled a hole!). Tomorrow’s plan is to head for Wroxham but that could change photos will follow after the holiday! Chris
  17. Well, we’re here at The Lion!! Moored up on the left hand side about 50 metres down. Boat is fine and so far excellent service at the lion! Just waiting for food whilst sampling the local brews! More to follow later Chris
  18. Belgian Grand Prix???? What a complete and utter farce!! Glad I didn't fork out to go and watch it! The FIA really need to get their act together! Chris
  19. Lovely shot of Cerise Lady after Ludham Bridge yesterday (Saturday 28th Aug) on well known You Tube channel! Chris
  20. Hells bells that would last me a whole week but I'd be in food heaven Chris
  21. Not sure if this is a hire craft or private but spotted it on BB webcam earlier. Not a great fan of this style but I have to admit she looks smart! Chris
  22. Excellent information! I've always been aware of the issue but never really understood the practicalities of it until now I'll try to remember it when mooring stern on in a couple of weeks time Chris
  23. Providing the river water has no obvious signs of pollution floating on the surface, I've always used the "dunking the mop into the river" method for cleaning down the decks etc when afloat. I can see Andy's point of view though!
