  1. Same as above with regard to trailers,
  2. Here’s a question, why are used outboard motors so expensive? a brand spanker is often only a few hundred quid more than what folk are asking for something 10 years old, with unknown history. 7 years warranty on a new one!
  3. There was no trailer with the boat,so I bought a new one from the selling marina in lymington so I could get it home
  4. Sorted, needs a bit of work but it was good value cheap enough to allow me to buy a brand new trailer for it and a brand spanking motor
  5. So 3counts of theft, 1 assault 1failing to attend court and they give him bail, the mind boggles.
  6. Hi all, worth a try asking im after a Brig F300 or 330 or an Avon sea sport 310/330 DL preferably a full outfit and a 20hp motor in excellent condition someone just might have just the thing sitting in their garage
  7. Drop down to a 6/8 hp motor it would be @75 kg
  8. This is the 2.7 metre model ,but you get the gist.
  9. I’m looking at a 2.4 metre Cabrio kart. it has a grp hull ,centre steer and a bench seat, plus bow seat. it weighs 50kg so with a 10 hp outboard it would be just under 100 kg
  10. I’d welcome your thoughts on small ribs. im looking for something @3metres ish. It needs to have a centre steer position with seats side by side. I could buy new,2.4 metre with a good s/h 10 hp Honda ,then source a good trailer for prob £5.5k.(this would fit perfectly weight wise with my boat) or,any thing used between @£3 to £6 k and up for an old to newer boat/outfit. im obviously looking online at everything I can find coming onto the market but I’d welcome views and experience on rib ownership. id sell my day boat and put the rib on davits, id also add,it’s not a need, more of a want thing.
  11. Bump to the top. boat is now in the water at st ives, cambs. engine runs nice, excellent little day boat. price reduction to £1600. incidently , im also looking to move the broom speed boat on as well, apparently it’s a Saturn. id like £150 for it. PM if of interest and I’ll get more recent photos.
  12. If you want to try it out on my dinghy ,it’s in the water next to my boat. help yourself. I’ll be around Saturday afternoon thru till sunday
  13. Let us know how you get on with it. watching with interest
  14. I think a decent S/H Honda BF10 is about my limit of budget, probably about the same as a used entry level torquedo
  15. Hmm ,DEEP BLUE 50R cant even find a price online for one of those! I guess if you need to ask,you can’t afford it
  16. Prop looks ok, I’ll try and have a play this weekend, though I feel it’s the motor head that’s got the vibes as it’s at lower revs and a bit of load,it’s like the motor is 4 stroking or just has poor primary balance.
  17. Can’t see a torquedo pushing a 6tonne boat very far
  18. Hi all,I have a 5hp Yamaha 2 stroke outboard on my day boat. It runs really well ,but it vibrates,it’s quite unpleasant after a bit. makes my vision blurry are 4 stroke motors any better? I recon I could go up to 10 hp,is a 10 hp motor likely to be a twin cyl? I could go electric for what I use the boat for but I’d poss also use the outboard for an emergency aux unit. any advise welcome!
  19. This image was posted on BRAG, Plus comments on how many boats moored up at the hire yards. price hikes too much?
  20. I can’t say I’ve experienced any issues over the last year with low water levels, despite there being very low rain fall through the last summer, over winter and spring the opposite has been the case with high river levels and moderate flooding. I guess the levels are better managed now at Denver complex ?
  21. 1st mile or so from hermitage was a bit weedy, water level was ok. I had no problems
  22. We headed down stream this weekend and had a pootle on the old west river
  23. The new pup wasn’t impressed with the locals ”call yourself a cattle dog Angus!!”
  24. Last weekend was the 1st chance we had to cruise, river levels had been high after the heavy rains and strong stream advisory in place with st ives lock closed.so we had a bimble upstream to Hemmingsford meadows.
  25. I really cannot see the problem that some seem to have, It’s 1/2 a day, by mid morning most of the competitors will be upstream of potter bridge anyway. have a lie in and a late breakfast.
