  1. Wise advice about the cars. The old Chelsea tractors fair whizz along and there are some tight bends.
  2. Thanks Colin Just a shame they didn't post a picture!
  3. Hmmm. Doesn't tell us much sadly We cruised through Potter last Friday and didn't notice anything untoward
  4. True, about 50/50 very roughly Worth the trip though MM
  5. No, me neither Lab! Looking at Craigs site there are several Lady Lindas Perhaps a reg number and precise location would help
  6. I don't think you would be far out at all MM
  7. I think that could be the one Barry Rings a bell as Mrs N's name is Linda Is it one of those Classic jobbing? Half timber, half grp????
  8. Thanks Carol, I'll be watching that when we get home!
  9. Hi BB Great pub, well worth the effort. I wouldn't recommend mooring/walking from South Walsham it's quicker and easier from Ranworth. It takes me 20 minutes and is a very pleasant walk. Yes, don't drive! The beer is so good you'll definitely want another! A cab might be an option.
  10. Agree with Grace, fabulous photos. Ice around today at Thurne so take care!
  11. Got to agree with you there Ray! Hi Barry I bet it was good when you ran it too! It's such a shame I missed you during that time But yes, customer care, attention to detail superb beer. It's not hard to grasp but it's amazing how many pubs do not! It really was the best beer I've had so far outside Norwich. I sure they'll do very well.
  12. Steve, you've got it in one. Proper pub.
  13. I had the great pleasure of calling into the Ship today and have to say I was very impressed. Excellent choice of beer with Green Jack Golden Best as a regular and two rotating guests mainly from small independent Breweries. The beer was very impressive, there is a real commitment to quality. Service was very friendly and helpful. I didn't try the grub but quite a few were eating and obviously enjoying thir meals. The pub still retains two rooms, a lounge cum restaurant and a bar where food is also served. There is a bar billiards table too, nice to see this traditional pub game making a comeback. The pub is dog friendly and listed in the Good Beer Guide I find it easier to walk from Ranworth, takes about 20 minutes. In my humble opinion this is one of the best pubs on the Broads, well worth the effort of visiting.
  14. Fair comment Ricardo but in the grand scheme of things it's not the end of the world. As Vaughan pointed out the tide had over topped and water and electric are not a good mix I would imagine. Just my 2p but it's not really a debate I feel qualified to pursue.
  15. I'm beginning to wonder. I've had a brilliant week and never been near an electric post! No complaints from me
  16. I took a couple of photos but having checked them unfortunately it's not possible to see the posts. We moored further down towards the Bridge. From memory the post(s) are near the rangers hut. We were the only occupied boat on the moorings. However there was a large dredger moored up at the Quay so it's possible work is going on. It's a shame as if I'd known it was an issue, I could have checked. Incidentally the hoses are removed at Reedham in winter but the water is still usually connected.
  17. Um, we moored at Reedham on Saturday but having no interest in the electric we didn't really notice. I did take a couple of photos so I will have a look in case the posts are in view. All sounds a bit odd though
  18. Ditto, came up the Ant today, no ice, in fact it was quite warm Big contrast to Monday and Tuesday!
  19. Looked a bit like a Broom from a distance (if that's the one) but could be wrong of course!
  20. Thanks folks, I must have missed it! I did wonder
  21. Apologies if this has been covered before and I've not been paying attention! We moored at what was Moonfleet for some water. We noticed there was empty space on their Quay so Mrs Nog went to make enquiries. They very kindly said we could moor there for a few hours as Richardsons looked very full. Nice woodie being slipped too. But I just wondered, what the form is, is it a takeover, have Moonfleet/Richardsons sold out?
  22. Take care Timbo and get well soon Best wishes from me and Mrs N
  23. Bit like that here in Beccles Grace White stuff coming down but not settling (yet)
  24. It does seem that the Broads must be one of the few areas to have escaped Reedham, St Olaves, nothing apart from plenty of rain!!!
  25. That's interesting. No snow at St Olaves, just freezing rain. Mind you if it had fallen as snow it would be quite thick by now. I think it gets warmer tomorrow.
