Matron has an 80 year old Beaver lamb fur coat inherited from my mother, it sits in the wardrobe unworn because of zealots who weren't even born when it was made. I understand the objections to this type of farming now as we have moved on as a society and very few new real fur coats are made. What a complete waste of vintage coats though. I see it as no different to driving a classic car, it was made, it survives, get over it. I expect my old 1962 Mercedes would inflame a few of the 'Juice stop oil' brigade if I still had it.

The last one I saw was at Brundall about 5 years ago. Traps were set soon after and there has been no further sightings.

Let's talk about loos. The Sheerline 740 has a manual flush fed with river water. It won't be used much so I am wondering if smell might become an issue with stagnant river water. How easy will it be to feed it from the fresh water tank, using a non return valve. The inlet pipe is around an inch. Will the pumped supply make up for the smaller diameter of the fresh water.

Whitey has a thunderbox direct into the tank below. With a manual type I would guess it needs a good flush to clear it to the tank.

I always add an extra litre of blue, direct down the pan. I was told to do this as the pipe from the tank to the pumpout outlet was quite long. We also put the yard blue straight down from the pan for the same reason.

Good point It is moulded fibreglass.

I fitted an external sensor to my waste tank some years ago. It is a pair of wired metallic strips that lead to a digital lights guage. It tends to be a guide rather than an exact reading. It shows E, 1/4 1/2 3/4 and full. We know we have a couple of days grace when the red light comes on. All you need is access to one side from top to bottom. We opted for this type rather than an intank sensor. I have no idea what make it is but can check over Easter if it helps.
