  1. Day 15 More positive today, he smiled at his mobile support team! He is now moving both arms and head more. Lungs are improved. Next steps breathing on his own for 72 x Hrs before Tracheotomy can be reversed. He’s also learning how to drink, swallow and eat again. Dialysis no longer needed. He is still tired, sleepy and weak but was brighter and in a better mood / place Griff
  2. Sutton yard flooded - no pump outs. Richo’s - no pump outs till March. Will not use Simpsons as they are a rip off. Our holding tank gauge showing nearly empty so it’ll have to wait till next time. Passing How Hill Griff
  3. The rain finally stopped as we approached the Ant thank goodness. Canopy down for Ludham bridge at 7ft4”. En route for Sutton yard - pump out n diesel Griff
  4. Preparing to sail in 15 mins. Had breakfast in t hotel. Gods but not cheap, £50 for three of us. Airdraft showing 5ft6” under bridge. It’s chucking it down, need to get under Ludham bridge today, that means canopy down in heavy rain Griff
  5. This morning I offered a mooring fee to the pub - they declined it We sailed for and stayed a while at Salhouse Broad. Only us there apart from dog walkers. Then onto a berth at Hotel Wroxham. Bridge height was 5ft6” on arrival at 1410. 2245 - nearly 6ft Had dinner in t hotel, Clare (Bollysnigh) joined us. Food / service was excellent. Had to don my wellies to take Purdey for a walk as both sides of hotel flooded In five mins - lights out Griff
  6. Day 14 Shaun is now Sat more upright. He has fluid build up which they are evacuating. His temperature is falling slowly. He has had more time off the lung machine Griff
  7. This morning, the levels have receded somewhat. However the tide is on its way back in. I spoke with the Landlord last night. The pub has seven pumps constantly running inside Herewith Griff
  8. Crewed up Friday night 24th Nov after having visited Tesco’s for victuals, myself,Purdey and two girly crew. It was cold onboard so the Planar onto full chat, left on overnight at 25%. Stayed in t wetshed Saturday 25th. Water levels too high again. After a FCE we sailed for Neatishead. Visited the pub for a mini DTS. Sailed for Ranworth. 7ft at Ludham Bridge, cills underwater, had to take canopy down. Plenty of room at Ranworth. Arrived at 1545. Pub shut, no sign of life. Sailed for Horning at 1600, Nav lights on. Swan Inn, moorings flooded, Green - no room. New inn - moorings flooded. Ferry about 80ft of quay dry, remainder flooded so managed to get alongside. Pub flooded and shut Cobbled together a dinner. V short evening walk for Purdey (flooding) We are warm, safe and dry. Everyone (And I mean everyone) I have met since last night is blaming the Blessed Authority for this situation. The silting on the Lower Bure is holding the water back so it can’t ebb out sufficiently before the next incoming tide, therefore every flood tide keeps on pushing up water levels. Business, home owners, boaters all suffering alike. We head for Wroxham tomorrow. Will have to moor outside the hotel. Barnes will be full / flooded. Bridge? No chance as I need 6ft 4” Its not good I’ll get some photos tomorrow Griff
  9. Day 13 Shaun remains stable. He had an operation today to remove a 450ml blood clot, operation went well, a small procedure compared to what he has endured to date, bit of a set back for him but Docs happy. He is given an inhaler now and again to combat Mucus build up. Temp high at 38c but is better than yesterday. Yesterday he was OFF the lung machine for 30 mins, today for 45 mins. They will keep increasing this daily in an effort to train his lungs to cope on their own He’s still facing an uphill battle. His mobile support team said it was not nice seeing him in pain. He seems to be feeling a bit sorry for himself (fully understandable) Griff
  10. Day 12 No news / update today. Mobile support group visiting him tomorrow Griff
  11. Nice one Smoggy - I'm sure to do a great job for her Griff
  12. Local Authorities have been limited to a maximum 5% increase again this year, they are making cuts to balance their budgets, so it is possible. Not possible by our Blessed Authority it seems - Besides they aren't a 'Local Authority' and as we know are accountable to no one other than themselves Griff
  13. You've gotta be kidding me really? I thought it was sorta getting back to normal? I'm due to be afloat from this evening, need to get under Ludham bridge tomorrow ideally without taking the top down at 7ft7" Mooring up without having to wear wellies would be good too. Was hoping to get under Wroxham bridge too (Astern!) Griff
  14. Nice one. That’s exactly a 22% rise in just 12 months Griff
  15. I retired from the OU on a scheme designed to shrink staff costs. Which is exactly what Yare House needs. It could do with a commercial dose of laxative Harsh? - Well another awkward truth is that when the Blessed Authority was formed, they took over from the port commissionaires at Gt Yarmouth - There were just six of them in their office Griff
  16. Day 11 Evening update. Huge positives today, in no particular order:- He is conscious but nods off frequently. Eaten some jelly by mouth - difficulty in swallowing (Tracheotomy). Lungs are improving assisted by ventilator, need muscles in diaphragm and lungs to build themsens up, breathing mostly on his own now. Kidneys - Good. Blood circulation - Good. Pacemaker - Good. Calf wound was a vein removal for the bypass. In pain - needs to manage that (Jock whimp). His position is now in between sitting and lying. Recognised his mobile support team. Responds when asked with movements using eyes / tongue / eyes He can move 1 x arm and both legs. Needs more time to heal but in good hands. We just ‘May’ have got him back! Big big day, best he / we have had so far His mobile support team have been asked to give him a rest day tomorrow so are due to visit Saturday Griff
  17. The planning department should be handed back to the local councils - that would save a wedge Grifg
  18. I’m not, they have huge office staff numbers - too many Griff
  19. They may be but I’m only stating facts Truth hurts? Griff
  20. Btw, you will have noticed in the BRAG letter that I have stuck my head above the parapet again Griff
  21. Now doesn’t that timeline if nowt else infuriate one? Not to mention other jaw dropping revelations If you’re not angered or at least disappointed , why not? You should be Griff
  22. The BRAG committee have responded, they have given permission for their letter to be published far and wide. I’ve asked Grendel to post it in here as I’m at work and bound to mess it up from my phone Griff
