  1. Er . . . . actually we do as this is what kicked off this latest round of unrest in the first place
  2. As of yet I've not seen her afloat but will keep looking. From the pics she does look very well and proper. Is she still blemish free? I hope so. I did hear through the grape vine that a decent amount of ballast has been added to the front of her, is this true? if so how much? it will help with bridge clearances though.
  3. You know, to say I'm proper impressed is somewhat of an understatement - Well done that man
  4. They could always impose a tax on wind/air for those of us with sails but then again if they did that they would have to pay the tax themselves and with the amount of hot air that is expunged from Dragonfly Towers, that alone would make up the shortfall I would think
  5. Please be aware that 'Normal' AF is highly poisinous to the aquatic wildlife and whilst blowing AF out of an exhaust may protect your engine it will do the opposite for our vunerable friends. There is a solution though, most chandlers do now supply enviroimentally friendly AF that does no harm to aquatic wildlife, Please try to use these products for winterising - Thanks
  6. The Herbert Woods one is out and now arrived, I like it a lot, and the website with the 360 degree camera view is very good too
  7. Picture of the 42Lb 8oz specimen can be viewed over on the NBF
  8. Do you know what Clive? Apart from various restoration threads (What I consider personally to be the height of craftmanship imho) This is one fascinating thread and I for one am gratefull you are taking the time and effort to share it with us mere mortals. Thanks.
  9. Nice to see, You couldn't see your way to doing Heigham Sound could you? Just where do you out the spoil btw?
  10. This is a very interesting thread with lots of good information and views here imho. Based on saftey and running costs I would have thought the diesel route would be the way to go.
  11. Sigh . . . Clive, I do wish you would stop rubbishing yourself and more importantly your excellent photo's. Have you any idea of how much it depresses us mere 'normal' folk when we hear you saying yours are rubbish, compared to the normal run of the mill stuff that the majority of us turn out? If yours are rubbish, and imho they are just about damn perfect, what's that make ours then?
  12. I was of the understanding that the BSS stated a drip tray is compulsory and has to be of a certain minimum size too ???
  13. I was informed that just an 80w light bulb left on in the engine bay would help guard against frost also, also could be an intruder deterrent, that is assuming you have access to shore supply in which case a couple of those tube heaters on a thermostat is worth considering. Also an old duvet or the like over the engine/battery boxes would not go amiss
  14. Great news, another proper woody saved and saved very well too. I kept on calling in the shed and having a few 'Look but don't touch' moments. Now having seeing her afloat she looks even better. Well done to you and your team.
  15. Well each to their own I spose. Personally if a boat is made of wood then I like to see it, varnish and lots of it imho. and if it has to be painted, then done in such a way to allow the characture of the wood to come through. BV looking v. good btw, enjoying yur thread v.much
  16. BA with what looks like a fibreglass hull? You should have gone to specsavers!
  17. Not to mention Coke, Ice and Fags. Where did you keep all that copious amount of ice btw? Great tale, enjoying it.
  18. I think it is very sad we even have such a facility here on the 'Bright' side. Do we really need this? Can't we sort out things out without having to run off to Miss? I hope it is not used much if at all
  19. Great to hear you are on the mend. Sounds like you are in very good hands too. Wishing you a speedy recovery (Restoration???)
  20. Don't think I've ever met him, but none the less Hoping you a speedy and full recovery
  21. I've used poles - not any good on a river though as I find I'm forever shipping them in to avoid river traffic, much easier with a rod. I agree Poles are not for rivers (Lithuanians are a different matter though )
