    Hey!

Hi,Emma, you will keep coming back i am sure i have been coming back hear since 1958,god i'm old..
  3. Your not alone Gavin,Last week when visiting the WRC for a couple of days (season ticket member) i saw this hireboat coming towards me side on to the floating pontoon next to me i jump up to fender them off as you do,and she sheepishy said first time out, sorry.at least she appoligised. another hireboat came right up to me side on (and he had a bowthruster) old chap trying to turn the boat roand using only the thruster not realising that his stern was about to bash into my electric winch i jumped up AGAIN the young boy did not know what to do so i pushed it off with great difficulty. another dayboat came in to the basin at such a rate of knots i thought he was in a race to the finishing post. all in a days mooring at the WRC (happy days) as Gavin says its not knocking hireboaters entirely but there does seem to be a lot of first timers this year and it shows. I get to the point of wanting to kill some of these idiots but then count to ten.. Some Private boaters do not get away with it neither with a lot speeding with large wash. especially on the way to and fro Brundall is there some race going on that we don't know about.with the price of deisel as it is you'd think they would drive more leiserly no sorry what was i thinking of they don't do that . Roll on the autumn when it will be quieter and serene with no stress involved.
  4. On the way back from a few days out on the boat i saw an obviously dead floating corpse of an animal difficult to see what it was maybe a deer a sheep it had been in the water some time i think.never seen anything so big as that had to swerve to miss it. anyone seen anything like this in the water before??
  5. What do you actually vote on Barry? Hi,Steve nice to know your name at last,we take a vote in team (Mods) about all sorts of discussions on the forum if they are a concern to the forum and members, nothing sinister just reasonable debate that comes to a decision on what to do to resolve it. By the way i hear on the grapevine that you are a competant fisherman who is retired and likes to fish.. Maybe we could meet up and do a bit of fishing and have a pint or two, just asking steve.. I am local and live half hour from Norwich..And have an old ex hireboat (southern based) with forward well ideal for fishing out on a broad...PM me if you like..
  6. w44nty,don't know what your first name is but we as a team have a vote and the most fors in any discussion gets the vote as in any democracy.
  7. Barry - regarding the Spring Meet, many comments were made at the time that it excluded alot of members because of location . It excluded some members but most of the broads Forum members with boats keep them on the northern rivers it just disapointed me that so many Northern boaters decided not to turn up whatever the weather. And the way i see it could turn into predominently southern meets in the future if the Northern based boaters cannot be bothered to turn up, I am southern based and have MADE an effort to turn up at the meets up north many times.
  8. Hi,Gavin in your request for more moderators to attend meets,i don't think you realise but there were 4 mods at the salhouse meet and there is going to be at least 2 mods or more at the birthday bash including me,i think it is unfair of you to suggest that not enough mods attend meets as a lot of them live far far away and in the current fuel climate find it difficult to attend. It seems like to me that you would like to be a mod am i right?? maybe you don't know who all the mods are.
  9. Also went past there the other day and noticed they are sprucing up the Buildings which now look much better, painting, new roofs, about time it was done.Would now like to see that eyesore which used to be the broads authority office and cafe on the Quay knocked down and replaced with something better looking.
  10. I heard this about Topcraft about 4 weeks ago and forgot to post it on here, one of the rangers told me at Oulton Broad Yacht station.. Also you lose the Fuel and Pumpout facilties as well. The Ranger also told me that they were thinking of doing a floating pumpout station..
  11. I passed there the other week Perry and as you can see have not finished it yet,as its no point in nice pontoons if you cannot get ashore.

  22. I am looking to Paint the topsides of my boat this summer. 1. what should i use to clear off the old paint thats on there. 2.I have heard that 2 pot paint is the best to recoat.expensive i know, but is'nt it all. 3.Does it have to be done undercover. The original colour or one of them is dark blue,at the mo it is white. I will be doing the work myself as i have spent enough on it already so have to.. All ideas will be looked at.
