Baitrunner
Done. Thanks guys for all your advice. went with the angle grinder and diamond disk in the end. Just used the dremel to get in closer to the skirting boards. The old wood chisel worked well too reground it a few times during use though Now just have to hope the dust stopped creeping out of crevices for the next 20 yrs!!!! one even came up virtually intact. Nightmare getting the adhesive off. more like cement.
ranworthbreeze
Hi Mark, I see in your last picture that the circs have capped off and there was a motorized valve in operation is this still in use or have you gone in for a condensing boiler? BroadAmbition
Nightmare getting the adhesive off. more like cement. That's cos is is cement based. Well done. Get yersen a straight edge when fixing the replacement tiles down, use the straight edge as a bridge over from the existing tiles to check you have the new ones in place flat with no lips protruding Griff
Baitrunner
The valve is still in operation (I did cover it up so no muck got into it) and yes we now have a condensing boiler. Yet to see how much money we will save on gas with a super efficient boiler!! The 30yr old one it replaced never missed a beat
Regulo
I am being kept nice and toasty by a TI Radiation Fuelsaver 15, which I installed myself in 1981. They certainly don't make them like that anymore. Completely below standards of today, but it's served me well without missing a beat for 35 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Baitrunner
Well it was warm putting the tiles back down yesterday. All grouted and just cleaned them. Don't worry Griff, I won't be going into the timing business anytime soon. Amazing what a picture can hide!!!! As a reminder from, from this to this
