Wildfuzz
Ok so Mrs W. does love her 80`s vintage clothing and furniture, but I have to admit to the latest addition to our nest to be a real winner. Its a 1980 NSM Festival juke box. Hold 80 7" singles giving 160 plays. I know it says Free on the display but it wasn't!!!!!! The sound quality is great, loaded with original eighties vinyl, in low light looks fab with the inside lit up and watching the carriage going back and forth is mesmerizing. When friends come over I flick off the free play and it 10p a play or 5 for a quid, will pay for itself in no time. So what couple of singles would you put on it. Tenpole Tudor swords of a thousand men & Jonny Preston Running Bear are my current "go to" number..........

Wildfuzz
Free standing and way too heavy for a boat, well my boat anyways, I still remember standing around a similar model at the king Cole pub in Colchester in my teens, I think Vodka and orange squash was the "in" drink..... Always gave me acid

NSM are OK when working correctly but as in all things jukebox engineers can be in short supply. I have worked on them but I have specialised in Rowe Ami jukeboxes since 1980. If you want to see more information on jukeboxes visit www.jukbox-world.de and check out the archive section. Regards Alan ami-man
Wildfuzz
Thanks Alan, Fingers crossed that it doesn't let us down, it has had a recent and very thorough refurb, so I am hoping despite its age it will trundle on..... The guy we purchased from is a juke box nut and very local so I can always pester him for advice / after sales support. I must say its fascinating watching the carriage doing its stuff..... Now added some Stray Cats... Jets, Flying Saucers and Matchbox, Rockabilly renaissance.
ranworthbreeze
Hi Stuart, There are some great records for a jukebox that really brings the sound out. Manfred Man Joybringer springs to mind, the top end sound and bass notes really comes out. The last busman's holiday I went on was at Hope Cove in Devon a few years ago, one of the rental cottages had one of those jukeboxes built into the back half of a Mini, the parts were from a Rowe Ami, so I had to fit my spares case into an already full car, a couple of hours work sorted out the issues and back to the beach.
