Harsh Treatment

I have heard that the BA are getting quite strict about people ignoring "No Mooring" signs but to sink your boat seems a bit extreme in my opinion.

Possibly somebody did not like it moored to a fishing platform.

It happened the other day, an elderly couple were cruising with a film crew and lightly nudged the poor boat.

Perhaps it got caught on top of one of the posts, the tide went down, stern went under & boat sank. To suggest that the Authority has treated the owner harshly is a bit far fetched, even in jest, in my opinion of course!

It is more than probable that the boat was moored on its own, reserved mooring, and simply got hung up on a post when the tide went down. Where was the photo taken?

I agree with JM - we can't necessarily bash the BA for this one!

Near Coldharbour Farm on the Thurne.  Simple case of overloading.  Three people sitting at the stern, which was consequently well down in the water, when the helm decided to push the bow into the reeds.  Bow rode up onto the rhond, transom went under, followed by the rest of the boat.  Rather soggy group of people scrambled ashore.  Spotted by BA ranger first thing next day, who put yellow posts and lights up around it.  Owner recovered the boat last Saturday.  All's well that ends well as they say.
