Vaughan, I'm also a long lost child - so you have a lot of making up to do. I should have been your favourite.

If anybody is interested the sister boat to Diamond is now at Bridge craft as London Bridge just in case they wish to hire rather than claim to be a long lost son or daughter

London Bridge (and possibly Vaughan's boat also) is unusual for a Pearl 38 in that the side hatch is on the starboard side rather than above the helm seat. Having hired the design a few times, the helmsman's hatch is one of it's best features because it enables the helmsman to have open air when the canopy is closed, a benefit for which I've been grateful in poor weather. I'm curious to know why London Bridge has the hatch on the "wrong" side.

Yes, I spotted that too. In fact I wondered for a few moments of the photo was back to front, so to speak. Even though I’m relatively short, I love being able to cruise along in Moonlight Shadow with the hatch open.
