2012 Autumn Meet

After so many requests Mary-Jane and I are organising an Autumn meet. We have polled the stalwarts who attend most meetings and the over-riding wish was for it to be held at Coldham Hall over the first weekend in October. That is, Friday 5th to Sunday 7th of October.

Natalie has promised to put on a similar "do" ( a sit down meal on Sat night) to that we had last year at the NBN 4th Birthday Bash, which was very well attended and much enjoyed! (A menu will be available in early September).

We have decided to leave the 5th Birthday Bash to be organised, possibly in the North this year, by any other members who wish to do so.

Looks like you are going to need a lot of splitters for all of those boats. How many points do they have at Coldham Hall? I have seen some points on the front side on moorings, do they have any for the stern mooring?

We are not down until the end of October but if we se you around will give you a wave. One of our owners will be about at the time of your meet.

Thank you for suggested drop in invitation, I will contact the owner.

We have only been the Coldhall Hall once, just after it reopened (was it last year?) the reason is that it is opposite our marina (Tingdene) pity there is not a bridge across the river there or a ferry or they might get more trade.

Alan you must be joking or live in the dreamland that some organizers do!

They will pay for their own food on the night... each and every one of them...

STARTERS

Spiced butternut squash soup with a coriander creme fraiche

Creamed Stilton mushrooms in puff pastry, dressed baby salad

Terrine of smoked chicken and confit pork belly, celeriac remoulade

MAINS

Puff pastry topped game pie with chestnuts and red currant jelly, dauphinoise potatoes and buttered kale

Hake fillet with cheesy herb crust, lyonnaise potatoes, wilted spinach and grain mustard veloute

Honey roasted parsnip and cumin risotto finished with thyme, toasted walnuts and parmesan shavings

Chargrilled 10oz Swannington ribeye steak, garlic & herb butter, roasted flat mushroom, semi dried tomatoes, twice cooked hand cut chips, beer battered onion rings, dressed salad leaves*

DESSERTS

Vanilla cheesecake, toffee sauce

Rich dark chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream

Fragrant poached pear, raspberry sorbet

Three courses: £22.00 per person.

* Supplement for ribeye steak: £4.00 per person

Obviously our regular menu will be running on the Friday evening for people so we would like to offer something different for the Saturday evening to make it special.
