mbird
Yes it does work Jill. We don't get too many in Reedham (no overhanging trees) but when we moored at Womack, I swore by bowls of conkers.
Guest
im off out to see if the conkers are ready yet has anyone noticed ? My daily work takes me past two conker trees that are the source of my annual supply (for that same purpose). There's a few weeks to go yet still, maybe the strange weather this year has delayed them.
Jim
Wish they worked externally! I've been trying to find a deterrent to keep spiders from building webs over camera housings. Tried the anti spider sprays and they were useless
jillR
hi jim Wish they worked externally! I've been trying to find a deterrent to keep spiders from building webs over camera housings. just an idea but could you try threading conkers on string and adorn the area with them. ? perhaps make up some spares to replace them when the weather gets to them. jill
littlesprite
I always have conkers in the house to keep the spiders at bay, have also thought about making a paste of some to give that a try.

Guest
This spay works around my external cameras and floodlight PIR detectors, you do have to refresh it regularly though. http://www.amazon.co.uk/151-s-More-Spid ... B002EISUUS
Lucky
Wish they worked externally! I've been trying to find a deterrent to keep spiders from building webs over camera housings. Tried the anti spider sprays and they were useless Hi Jim. We use WD40 sprayed around the housing and wall - keeps the little blighters off for about two months at a time... MauriceMynah
It's nice to see a thread on conkers, it's usually the other way around! We have horse chestnut trees outside our house. No sign of them dropping yet!

ExUserGone
Kids won't touch conkers, that would require a risk assesment and some imagination.
littlesprite
I've already filled a carrier bag Very poor/low crop this year though, off to search for the cobb nuts this weekend.
littlesprite
I've already filled a carrier bag Very poor/low crop this year though, off to search for the cobb nuts this weekend. I did of course mean cobnuts, the cobb nuts or cobb stones are what I burn in my cobb bbq.
ExUserGone
You just can't go collecting cobb nuts and putting them on the bbq, swans all belong to the queen whatever gender!
ZimbiIV
We gave up on this conker idea last year when visiting the boat, a pile off conkers were covered in cobwebs!! I bought Jill a flyswat as a joke, ( imaginations run riot ) works best on spiders in her hands. Paul ps. put your own smilies here
MauriceMynah
If you want to live and thrive, Let that spider run alive. But if you want to have a laugh, Swat it with the Telegraph.
