trambo
Hi all. Whilst doing some research that involved 'flickr', I as always when on that site had a look if there where any suitable photographs for Jills "Boats of the Broads" pages and came across this. The British Library has uploaded the photographs from Payne Jennings book "Sun Pictures of the Broads". Besides the photographs they have also scanned the very beautiful page artwork. Well worth a look, the link is http://www.flickr.com/photos/britishlibrary/tags/imagesfrombook003538944/ Fred
SPEEDTRIPLE
Hi Frank, well spotted that man. What a fabulous selection of photographs. The only thing i think is a little bit of a shame is they don`t say where they are. I love all the old photo`s of the broads, especially seeing the ones showing the UPPER stretches of the rivers that are now no longer navigable. It`s a bit of a dream of mine to be able to cruise the Waveney to Bungay, the Bure to Aylsham, and the Ant / North Walsham and Dilham canal to North Walsham, but alas, i don`t think it`ll ever happen in my lifetime. Maybe in a future life i`l be able to do so, till then, i`l just have to wake up and live in the real world. Regards and best wishes from a VERY sunny Dorset ....................... Neil. marshman
Thats because the narrative is on the facing page - at least it is on my copy! Does not the archive show that?
Samuel
Interesting stuff. If you click on a photo you then find the option to download the whole book so you don't have to have your own personal copy like MM.
marshman
You might not need one, but you cannot smell a download, yet you can an old book - much much more satisfying!!!!

johnb
Just to keep to tradition and go off subject, we sometimes go to Chinese Buffet called Aroma, which always seems to me to lay them open to certain negative comments should anyone wish to make them.
