C.Ricko
I have seen this before but most impressed, I think it must have been a 'Brown trouser moment' although I assume the skipper had done this before..
Samuel
Couldn't the skipper have sailed in?
ranworthbreeze
How stupid was the person walking on the harbour wall? Regards Alan
Guest
Exceptionally good boat handling, ........but exceptional luck too. I think most experienced skippers in good seaworthy boats like that would have stayed offshore and ridden it out, rather than take such a shocking risk with their crew. GeoffandWendy
Could have been disastrous, but the crew had luck on their side really. I doubt they will be doing that again in a hurry.
Paul
I don't think luck had much to do with it, credit experience and skill when you see it, even on a flappy windybag type of thingy. The skipper knew exactly what he was doing even lining his approach squarely at the starboard side pier wall knowing that the sea state would wash him to port, and plenty of throttle and commitment at the proper time. respect.

Hi Guys, Watched it several times and reckon he does make some sort of contact with the outer starboard breakwater - you can just make out the sound at 36sec into the video clip. A very lucky ship!
