It is owned by new river retail group. They bought it as part of a package of pubs from punch but will have no interest in renovating. http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/Operators/Other-operators/NewRiver-in-2015-Buying-selling-and-Co-ops-on-pub-land
Soundings
Thanks HA, I thought I'd heard that name, River Retail, before. Wonder what Latham's/QD read into that initially?
Polly
Given the presence of Lathams, I'd guess they would not look at a grocery store there.

JennyMorgan
Good ones survive, so true. Spent most of yesterday at Lowestoft's growingly famous Stamford Arms, they have a challenging twelve pumps on the counter - - - - - - hic!

It just goes to show that a back street local can be a success with an excellent landlord and free of Pubco tie!
JennyMorgan
http://www.stanfordarms.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/TheStanfordArms Yesterday we went there for the day, my daughter Rebecca plays electric violin in a jazz group that performs there occasionally. Place was comfortably packed. They have a blues band there next week, now, as well as good ale and cider, I enjoy blues music. Met and befriended 'Mike the Potter', now there's a character! Pub's like the Stamford & Geldeston Wherry do seem to pull such people in.

The post office/general store by the Falgate has also raised its game big time having just changed hands. Re Latham's, I have never seen them as somewhere I would go for grocery shopping, although I guess they do enough to be convenient to the boating fraternity.

A varied bike ride back to the RNSYC!
