  1. Hi, We should have a 25-30' mooring coming up due to a customer moving into the main marina. £63 per foot per year inc VAT, I think there are other moorings in other marinas but this is just me mentioning a space in our place in Horning
  2. yes we can fit one of them, just got to find the right one for you. Cheers, Clive..
  3. oh thats ok, Phil is at Stalham, I am at Horning with Jason. Cheers, Clive
  4. we have a twin outdrive boat out at present, We also had phone issues and a couple of the messages were inaudible so if you did phone and leave one I can't hear it! Cheers, Clive
  5. We do outdrives at Horning and Stalham Moonfleet.. if you combine the service with a antifoul it will be saving the cost of a lift..
  6. i might be able to fit 500 litres in somewhere!
  7. Oby is not Horning , When finished I imagine although reasonably priced the Oby moorings will be much cheaper than most of Horning, some of horning is reasonably priced, will they have finger jetties, lighting, 16amp electricity supplies to each mooring and fresh water supplies, is there vehicular access to any moorings? is the car park far away? are there any on site facilities?
  8. thats half what i pay before i pay the duty, If you put that up on here you might encourage a visit from HMRC
  9. I must agree with you matt, we are still only charging 110p per litre . perhaps we should price match the other hire yards,
  10. i remember in the 80s some massive hovers turning up all the time, we would get paid to remove them, no such fortune these days we just shove them up the slip and stick them on the marsh to get them out of the basins, not many others do i don't think, they just shove them out into the main river. one problem is that birds nest on them and you have to tie them to the bank until they hatch. you often see them floating round with yellow stakes in them. perhaps they need flashing lights! Richardsons now have 307 hire boats at stalham so its way less than previous unless you mean the private boaters.
  11. sometimes i think i am th only person that whistles nowadays !
  12. you could be right, either that or they were scared or embarrassed to ask, you have to bear in mind that some private boat owners are perhaps too posh to offer or too quick to shout 'go away' on trial runs I always tell people to shout for help and don't be afraid to ask as some people want to help but may not be forthcoming, I am often met with the response from new hirers "really?, will people help?"
  13. fein saw Bill, cut the glue while a couple of people with mole grips heave like mad!
  14. or come and see me, we have a marina full of very nice boats and owners.
  15. send me a sample board, I will put it in our chandlery (shop/stores/ reception) we are an approved fitter for Nanni diesel and fit a fair amount of webasto heaters and side power thrusters from JPC we have nice displays from the suppliers for these products,
  16. To be honest, I think Maxwellian is correct and I am undercharging for the space as the space around the boats is generous, not just the bit where the boat is tied. The reason i charge less is that the marina is still 'work in progress' and with hopes to expand I dont want to empty some spaces by being greedy when some aspects of the marina are still needing work. However, we do supply a cracking service and have a 30 tonne lift which not many others do.
  17. Yes there are actually 3 boats in our marina which are significantly smaller than the minimum length so to answer your question that is 3. but i don't think they are subsidising anyone. I do not believe it is unrealistic as we have roughly 25 spaces for smaller boats with either 35', 25 ft min or no min charge. its like going to the chip shop and asking for 67p worth of chips, you might be told they only do 60p or 90p.
  18. Hi yes, the basin is large and has 0ver 45' clear water in the middle even with 45' boats moored either side so would be a waste if filled with 25' boats, also the pontoons are spaced for 12-14 foot wide boats so would also loose about 5' per bay. I had amended the availability to show that there are a couple of spaces for smaller boats but they really need to be about 21-23 feet long. all our other spaces are full for boats up to 30' there are 27 and 28' boats moored in the main basin with no wish to be anywhere else, We have over 65 spaces which are pretty much full, so we feel the pricing is pretty good. Perhaps get Thunder and Lightening up here to keep the others company? Cheers, Clive.
  19. I think I am correct in saying that Solace had her underwater planking converted to carvel so that she would be faster for racing,
  20. I managed to find space for a 23' boat today which made me realise that there is also one space in the main marina for a stern on max 25' and also one side on space for a smaller boat, electricity available on both moorings. I will have to re home the tow boat though! Cheers, Clive.
  21. Hi All, I have just heard that one of our private berth holders from Horning is moving on to pastures new, Seeing as this is near April when everyone else swaps about i thought I would put it up on here, There are now 2 spaces available, Stern on with electric and water, access up to your boat by car, £63 per foot per year inc VAT, These moorings are charged at minimum 35ft (others are full) we have all services available Traditional boatbuilding, Engineers polishing Antifoul. 30 Tonne travel hoist. Give myself or Jason a ring (01692) 630614 Cheers, Clive.. P.S, we will refund any complete months if you decide to move on.
  22. the first was a russian who pulled out of the sale and left the owners with it, this is a 2nd boat.
  23. we have had customers come to us in that situation and insist that their mooring be left free until their term runs out so they can use the mooring when visiting!
  24. we have offered that for about 4 years now, it would make life a lot easier if some other marinas did too as all our accounting years are different and it has made some moorers forfeit 5 or so months morrings to come to us which is a bit much..
