  1. Thanks, Jim, but I really was serious ( for a change!) Lori, I've installed it but how do I get it onto here, please?
  2. I hope you meant "Copy your Smiley", Lori!
  3. Welcome aboard from us, Gem. I completely agree with the comments above, indeed we've been aboard during the week up to Christmas! Will you bring children? That might be a problem as a lot of attractions will be closed. We haven't decided on a date for the NBN Autumn Meet yet but it's usually the first weekend in October and you could get to meet some of us. Previous years have been at Coldham Hall, across the River Yare from Brundall.
  4. Sorry, John, I forgot to put the car-attendies down. So it's Brian+family and Jonzo. I'll incorporate that when I do another update.
  5. Will you guys who haven't booked in PLEASE do so! I read somewhere recently that they had been changed to Public 24hr moorings... incorrect. Steve, the local BA Ranger has been handing out notices since I last saw him a few weeks ago. Tim tells me they are now penalty ones. If there is no space and the boat declines to move for you when asked, then tell them that you are calling Broads Control (01603 756 056) and they will be fined if they don't.
  6. Me also, Lori.. I can't get them on my Tablet or 'phone... Perhaps John (Jonzo) will pick up on this topic? As to Robin's comments, well a big "Thank You" to you too, Robin, for such great posts!
  7. And then some, John! Friday Girl is 34x12ft and we have acres of space for two (and Jim). I'm not sure how happy I'd be manoeuvring a brand new 45 footer... especially if it wasn't mine.
  8. Wow, Lori... now that is old.... loolk at all the gibbets in the background!
  9. We'll look forward to meeting you in person then, Robin!
  10. Good Morning, Si I recently found this Ricco's ad on utube and think it's really good! It will give your daughter a good idea of what to expect and some very useful tips for you both: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bBcGdnkaaTY
  11. Siddy, Hi. I don't know about boats heating costs but ducted warm-air heating was all the rage in houses when we had one built in 1971.... you don't hear a lot about it now!
  12. Absolutely, 'Mate. It sounds as if they had some prior knowledge if they specifically targetted the fresh meat. They would have needed containers for it although I doubt hygiene would have been a high priority...
  13. And that, Neil, is as likely as the BA spending all the licence fees on what we pay for! (Such as river maintenance and moorings).
  14. But that's just it, surely, Frank? It is a modern "bathtub" and has all the advantages of the breed.
  15. Another thing, Martin, they have two large Siberian Huskies.... Who are sweeties and will completely ignore littlesprite!
  16. The Royal Oak, just up Ravensmere towards Tescos. (Next to the chippy). Cheap and cheerful!
  17. That must be a newish notice then. Talking with Mary-Jane and it's actually nearly 2 years since we moored there.
  18. That's a very interesting comment, Matt. If you throw in leccy it's nearer £50, isn't it? Which is that much less to spend on grub or beer. We do occasionally moor on the floating pontoon by the lido in Beccles. We've never been charged. Also mooring at Thorpe, just outside Norwich, is free and buses pass by frequently. Of course you need a boat with a sub 7ft airheight.
  19. Lori, hi. Thanks for that. This was all down to Neil (SpeedTriple) suggesting to me that I contacted them before the meet, which I did. The Editor is hoping to join us at the Summer one at Beccles to write it up. (I must get a copy to see what he said). Thanks to Gav for the pic.
  20. I'll agree with that, Neil. We spend weeks afloat and last year was the worst we can remember for many. So far this year it's not been too good either.... That's why I think it's so important that we hear all those good stories when peeps have an enjoyable holiday. Robin's blogs must go a very long way to encouraging new visitors.
