  1. I rest my case, Vaughan........................
  2. Golly Gosh, Iain! Is it really that long ago? And you even have your own personal "handle" !!!
  3. That's very true, Vaughan, but the BA insist on SOG as the yardstick and that's all most peeps can cope with. If they stuck to the 3 mph limit up Rockland dykes then there would be no significant wash.
  4. You can download this for FREE, Alan and I have it on both my tablet & 'phone. It's called Polaris . There really is no excuse with such apps freely available.
  5. Ian if I'd known that it was you I'd have re-moored.... honest!
  6. Yesterday morning my mate Jim and Jasper, our Whippet, went up the river to the Ferry House and back. I was appalled by the wake and wash of several private boats. I later noticed that my dash-camera had been on and I have graphic evidence, but what to do? I'm not prepared to name and shame but I was really upset and even ashamed to be on a private boat with the likes of these prats about. Where are the river patrols on a Sunday? A cruise betwixt say, Brundall and Bramerton, would harvest rich pickings...
  7. This is where we'll all be moored. Braveheart will be stern/side on where the RC 45 (?) is and the rest of us side by side, stern-on, to port. CU there!
  8. Absolute last call. I spoke with Sonia this lunchtime (The Sharpie was great!) and she asked if anymore else wanted to come.... I'm replying tomorrow morning!
  9. They have a huge rubbish skip, Geoff, but it was frequently full.....................
  10. But they still have a rubbish site on the other side of the bridge, John. This is just laziness, surely?
  11. Aha, it doesn't leave what I've already posted on my PC, which I'm presently using instead of my laptop. Does that give anyone a clue, please? (Using W10 & Chrome again)
  12. Thanks for that, David, it works well. My only other question is why does it do it? I.e. Leave what I have posted already?
  13. And Good night to you, Neil... another lovely set of reminiscences!
  14. When I reply to a topic and then post it all goes well. Later, if I reply again a bit further down the page then my previous reply appears. Not too much of a problem (but annoying) as I can just delete it. However, if this happens to have been a vid or pic then I have difficulty at times deleting it at all. Using W10 and Chrome on an HP Pavilion laptop. Please Help!
  15. We stopped for fuel and a pump-out before arriving at the Yacht Station. You'll hear me mistakenly calling Tim on the VHF and Michael answers.
  16. I'll get it in before Iain... "And the Black Pudding"!
  17. A few short clips about our recent Broads cruise to the Summer Meet. This one starts just after 05.30hrs to optimise the tides betwixt Brundall and Beccles. I think these early morning cruises highlight the magic of The Broads.
  18. A warm welcome aboard from us, caractacus.
  19. I mentioned the Nanni 50 F/C graph earlier and here it is for those interested. It makes quite sobering thought when you consider the large amounts of juice that you can use at higher rpm! I would have been using less than half of Paul's fuel consumption..... and is the reason why I'm always loathe to go against the tide!
  20. Back to our wanderings.......... You wouldn't want to tangle with this as you approach The Reedcutter! Paul in trail as we pass by Aldeby Moorings. I was pushing 1700 rpm to make 6mph but Paul needed 2200 rpm; perhaps anew prop, Paul? Did you talk to Griff about it?
  21. Sunday morning and it's not too long before peeps are on their way. (Sorry, Griff, I had planned to video your departure but 05.00 was above and beyond my call to duty!
