  1. The old map is truly wonderful - and out of copyright so great for inclusion! I'm currently working on filming a couple of short documentary sets for the areas of the Broads that 'no longer exist' sadly!
  2. Good morning Well the boat is finally undergoing a comprehensive overhaul ready for this season! As always I will be getting it captured on film, both as a help for others, but also, as I am open for comment. I will be concentrating on the Volvo (290) DP-E outdrives, discussing the best way for bellows changing (Leg off vs top gearbox off) and the pros and cons of each, why you shouldn't ignore worn bushes and how easy of difficult these are to change, the most expensive oil in history... and much more including polishing, minor gel coat refinishing and antifouling Just a taster in the teaser below https://youtu.be/O1TebBw4UUc
  3. Just a quickie - we are seeing a very large increase in covid again, new symptoms being with sore throat/laryngitis, then muscle aches fatigue and tiredness before a temp begins.. up until approx day three LFT negatives are widely being reported whilst PCR's are showing positive. details can be found on various sites.
  4. Yep leaving it conected is a sure fire way of making many of the early sterling (Actually rebadged products) go pop! although alot of up market chargers such as Vitron etc dont seem to suffer this prob
  5. So, just looking through the last few out takes and clips of 2021 and we thought a short 'doggie' compilation would be fun. This is out Westie, Hamish, he is adjusting to being on board more nowadays, but still very afraid of swans!
  6. Thank you for your very kind comments and, knowing how our westie is very much part of the family, how it could pull on the heart strings a little. I look forward to hearing about your Broads trips!
  7. Hi Lulu Yes absolutely, I am relearning an old skill - I will try and dig up some links to the old NBN videos as well. They do take quite alot of work and time, which for me, is quite precious but having made them, they are memories that we have. I'm working on a couple of new ones at present, one is a highlight film from the perspective of the mad westie and another is canoeing on the broads - however, not where you would normally see! In the meantime, this has been my favourite episode from last year and shows a challenging harbour entrance at Southwold as well as us locking back through Mutford Thank you for your very kind comments - as I have mentioned elsewhere, we do not monetise, it is for fun - just try to create and share interesting content with great music!
  8. Unless you fit a sail and then speed seems to be irrelevant!
  9. the only groups that were consulted on the lobbied highway code changes were... cycling and alternative road user organisations. of the 20,000 replies, 16,000 came from cyling enthusiasts alone - no motoring organisation was invited to contribute....... Does that sound like a fair and balanced consultation... ... oddly sounds verrrrry familiar!!!
  10. This was our last Broads visit of the year to finish the adventure!
  11. Thank you for your kind comments - we share as much as we can and I have been making vids for fun for quite a while - there even a few really old NBN videos around on my old channel still doing the rounds!
  12. It may have been - it has been on the Broads for over 10 years and I know both former Broads owners well, previously it was sold by Essex Boatyards
  13. Over the past year we managed to get into the Broads a couple of times - apologies for the generic draft of the swing bridge in one episode, but thought you would all enjoy our Broads moments!
  14. Really like your production Andrew - great series of vids!
  15. ..and these ones definitely pulled a heart string or two...
  16. Just looking back a few years. Feel quite emotional. It all seems like yesterday .. good memories, good people and happy times..
  17. Hoping he is all good to open in a few weeks.. itโ€™s been too many years.. we once ran a little airport bar together....
  18. Strow - For once I agree 100% with your understanding. Whatsmore - my housemate is part of a very large housing development family who may own a relatively local football stadium - I am often told that the profit on even medium scale housing developments is massive, I honestly believe you could easily replace the word 'investment' in this headline with the word 'profit'
  19. Maybe the owner knows himself and is more worried about the damage he or she could inflict on others after a few down the local - and being a boy scout (Scoutess) in a previous life, is well prepared!!!!!!!!
  20. I'm sorry to pass the news on that Coldham Hall has been very badly damaged in a serious fire this afternoon. Passing all my best wishes on to Nat and George who have always been terrific hosts to both members of this and other forums locally. Hoping they get back on their feet very soon
  21. Absolute tosh, it is public, however the only licensing restriction is that it is not viewable on either apple mobile devices or ipod - as with many music based videos due to Warner/Universal licensing arrangements. ...And it is playing perfectly normally on other sites where it is embedded such as sealineforum.co.uk and my own site It is either the link has been edited out of the posts or the plugin requires updating. Simples!
  22. I wasn't talking about your hirer, or his (or her) ability, and I am certainly sinful (Perry) I meant more 'that went well then' straight out of one boat into another! As I presumed they were just heading out then that was goodnight broadsman!! You mustn't read these things the wrong way, you'll end up with high blood pressure!!!
