  1. Hi John. I would just have to work out the cost of diesel to get there! Must be all of 20 yards away from my mooring. Be nice to book a 'side on' mooring as ours is not a very social boat for stern on. Keep us informed! Regards Alan and Eve.
  2. Speedtriple. Great pics. I always look that 'Happy' when I havn't ahad a drink! I also took quite a few photos which I intended posting but when I tried to upload them to the computer the card reader decided to wipe them all out-maybe next time!! Regards Alan
  3. I used this to and from the Salhouse meet. Although I had pre-checked the times using the NSBA I still thought it good piece of mind! Regards Alan
  4. I needed to get some info on a product yesterday. I e mailed Brian Wards with my question. Within 10 minutes Tanya e mailed back the answer. I telephoned my order through to Tanya, received my Forum discount and paid by debit card. The item arrived today at 11.15am. I really dont think you can get better service than this! Thanks. Regards Alan.
  5. Hi to Littlesprite and all! Nice to meet you all. Had a great time despite feeling raf and not being able to drink like the rest of you! Look forward to the next one-nearer to Beccles would be nice!! Regards Alan and Eve
  6. Hi John. Only coming from Wroxham?! We are coming from Beccles so more likely to be there about 19.00hrs.!! See you all soon.
  7. Hi mbird, what a nice offer! Eve and I will have one each-save me (her really) cooking! Regards Alan
  8. John. Thanks for that. List being prepared as I type! Regards Alan
  9. John. What butchers did you use in Beccles? I will get Eve to stock up for next weekend before we set off from Beccles on Thursday. Regards Alan.
  10. littlesprite. Yes us too! Leaving Beccles Thursday afternoon, staying at Waveney River Centre Thurday night and then cruising up to Salhouse on Friday-can't wait! Regards Alan and Eve
  11. Yes I agree. As a 'Broads' lover For more years than I care to mention I think it was very naff and didn't do the boating side any good at all, but never mind !. Regards Alan
  12. Grace. I seem to remember Sluice Weir lock up from Yalding twds Tonbridge was the most off putting-its a real biggy, but as you get twds Tonbridge they are not too bad. We found the biggest problem were the boats that just followed you and pulled in behind and didn't offer any help, used to make me quite stroppy at times!! Regards Alan.
  13. Grace, as I said its been quite a few years since we were on the Medway (bloody locks!) and we were actually moored at Bridge Boatyard there. At that time I don't recall there being any public moorings but Dave Paine who had the yard at the time would let you moor there for a 'consideration' if there was a space available!! Might be worth giving the yard a ring? The other place to consider is the town quay in Maidstone, lots of pubs near there! Regards Alan
  14. Thank you all for the info! This is in fact our third Seamaster 30. All of them have been moved to the 'Broads'. Our first was factory built in the early 70's and had the nav. lights in boxes on the wheelhouse roof and we took her through a couple of times at low water but this was probably about 15 years ago and I wonder whether the river is higher now due to global warming etc? Regards Alan.
  15. Gracie. When we were moored at East Farleigh some years ago our local was the Victory Inn which is just past the railway station and a few minutes walk from the river. In those days they served good food and great beer!! Not been there for a number of years so cannot comment on what its like now! Enjoy. Regards Alan.
  16. Russell, thanks for that. We have got a Seamaster 30 which I measured at 9'4" with everything down and it didn't look like we could get under even at slack low tide. Jason from LBBY did tell us that the height guage at the bridge reads under the actual height available and did offer to walk us through (nice guy) but I did chicken out! Maybe next time?! Regards Alan
  17. Lynn and Russell, good to see you are out and about. What is the air draft of your boat-you can obviously get under Ludham bridge OK? Regards Alan
  18. Grace-well now you come to mention it!! Regards Alan
  19. I sure thats a duck and not a monkey! Was the beer that strong at the Bell? Reagards Alan

    New Torch

Strowager and Lost the Plot. If you look at the sky at night and see a sort of search light over Beccles you'll know I am on the boat and playing (with the torch) that is!! Regards Alan

    New Torch

Just ordered a re-chargeable one from the e bay site. Thanks. Alan.
  23. Great to hear from you again Jon. I thought you had already gone on that world cruise! Regards Alan
  24. Mowjo-Its not only the BSC that we have to worry about-we have an MOT testing station and vehicles have to be tested to 'minimum standards'. When you see some testers thoghts on this you would be amazed! Regards Alan.
  25. We called in at the Waveney Inn last Thursday night on the way back to our home base of Beccles. Now totally changed from the old Waveney and must have spent a fortune! We too were suprised at how reasonable both the food and drink prices were, lets hope they stay that way! Nice to see Alan the harbour master again. Well done and good luck. Regards Alan
