  1. Speedtriple. Interesting to read what you have said about Hawkinge. Have you been back since then? Hawkinge used to be a village but now more like a town! The air museum still has a small part of the old airfield but the rest is new housing. Worth a look if you are passing! Regards Alan
  2. I'll have one, let me know when to pay, (now if you want to raise money before the event!) Good luck with this, Regards Alan

    WARNING!

Hi Alan, ref Morrisons. We didn't see any signs re parking at the time and to be honest its too far away to go back and look! However we use the Morrisons in both Beccles and Folkestone and havn't seen any signs there. As luck would have it, the wife actually still had the till receipt which I copied and sent to Euro. The actual demand for payment included a timed front and rear 'photo of my number plate!! Needless to say, if the outcome is not in my favour this will be taken up with Morrisons! Regards A & E.

    WARNING!

There is another topic running which involves some 'photos of the Wroxham based railway and I thought I would tell you all about my experiance regarding another Norfolk railway should any of you visit. I must state I am NOT an 'anorack' but do enjoy the old railways.-ANYWAY!-We were up on the boat at Beccles in late June and decided to visit this railway at Dereham. We did not realise at the time but it was their steam weekend and as such, on arrival, found the car park full and closed. Not knowing the area we telephoned the booking office to find out where we could park and were told 'Morrisons, over the road' which we did. It was a good experience and we spent 3+ hours there, even bought the T shirt! On our return to Morrisons we spent about an hour in there topping up with ships stores. A good day out was had by all.....HOWEVER. I had been back at work for about 10 days when I received a letter from Euro Car Parks to state I had overstayed the time limit at Morrisons car park and had been fined £90.00 I wrote to them explaining the circumstances and two lots of correspondence later am still waiting for the outcome. So beware, despite what you are told, PARK AT YOUR PERIL!! Regards Alan and Eve
  9. We live at Hawkinge Kent. If we don't stop en route its just under 3hours on a good day and Dartford Tunnel in our favour-its really got to be a 'long weekend' to be viable. This weekend is a 'jolly boys' trip from Saturday through to Wednesday, can't wait, give us a wave if you see us or better still, buy us a pint!! Regards Alan.
  10. I really do hope this brings some quick results. Regards Alan
  11. I hope they catch the B.....D that did this then tie him/her to a tree and let the public throw whatever they like at them. Be good to let them feel how the dog felt. Alan
  12. Hi Robin, yes quite a treck! We did similar from the Forum meet at Salhouse Broad this year. Left on the Sunday at about 10.00am to catch GY at the right time and back to Beccles non stop (apart for Somerleyton Bridge which we had to wait 20 minutes to open), only difference really was that I had hid with me so did'nt have to stop in the reeds to go to the heads! Regards Alan.
  13. Well Robin, as far as I could see, an excellent job, especially as you were singled handed. Well done I say and keep up the good work! Regards Alan

    Tide Tables

I always use the NSBA website and print off the tide times for the whole of the Broads for the month I need. I would reccomend it (and Membership). It hasn't let me down yet! Regards Alan.

  19. We will be up to 'My Panache' on Saturday 21st-my birthday. Will stay at Beccles overnight. Sunday morning will be sobered up (maybe!) and booked into WRC for the night. Monday booked into Broadland Holiday Village, first time but been meaning to give it a try for a while. Tuesday, probably Loddon, who knows from there! Forum flag will be flying aloft, except for Somerleyton and Reedham bridges! Give us a wave if you see us. Happy sailing! Regards Alan and Eve.

  22. That takes me back! River Ant was the first boat I actually booked back when I was 18, and thats now a bloody long time ago!! I remember collecting the boat and going under Acle bridge and some guy was waving to me, I waved back but he was actually telling me to slow down. A lesson learnt and remembered. Alan
