12mm, yep, that's the one. On Spray we have a three and a two on the main & have never felt a need for a ratchet block, even in a good blow. On Jenny Morgan I do have a ratchet block but then I have a double & a single, the reason being that she carries a smaller main & I reduced the drag on the sheets as much as I could for sheeting out in light winds.

This proposal can only enrich the varied tapestry that makes up the Broads but I agree that the traffic could be a problem and should be considered. So long as there are no tacky plastic elephants . . . . . . . . .

Jax, I have space in my garden at Oulton Broad where you can park. I'm about a mile from the yacht station but can ferry you back and forwards. Afraid my mooring is not best suited to an additional boat but if you can meet your friends at the yacht station then I can provide off road parking, no probs. As a place the WRC is a great location but as has been said the good folk there don't miss much but hey, they are not a charity.

I was fishing at Reedham Ferry last September, myself and others had good bream fishing. Indeed one bloke from Yorkshire had a really good net full.

John, doesn't this apply as much to the wider population as it does to just the members? Anyway, up to you, will be happy with your decision. What I noticed was the lonely dog in a cage, its owner dead. No mention of the children coming home from school to an empty home or the husband going up to an empty bed or even the traumatised train driver. A truly stark warning, take care of yourself, there are others around you that matter.

Written elsewhere and, I think, spot on: What does it say about the government minister who says that [8 July] - “Government officials were “more than comfortable” with the move to call the Broads a National Park” - when it is legally, morally and ethically not a National Park. To the writer of that question the answer is simple, it is a lie. How long have they been back in power?

People unfamiliar with the area might be tempted to let their dogs have a run, be careful. A powerful, poignant message.

What is this thing that you ladies, Gracie, have for shoes? I manage with a pair of wellies, a pair of chest waders, two pairs of sandals, & I think that that is extravagant but my wife refuses to go shopping with me in my older pair because they have a spot or two of blue antifouling on them, a pair of very comfy Dutch clogs and a pair of black, formal shoes. Enough for any man! My wife & daughters, on the other hand, I haven't got enough fingers and toes to count them all on! Very definitely a woman thing!
