    Lifejackets

I drop my four (2 auto, 2 manual for dinghy use) at Brundall bay marina office where they are collected to go to Seasafe on the I.O.W. I think they use dehumidified air and over inflate deliberately as part of the service. The jacket is thn re-certified
  2. Certainly the NNUH is going to need careful consideration. The new car park was hardly used two years ago, now it too is always full, why did they not build it multistory? I hope expansion of the surgical facilities are on the plan but of course NNUH's real estate is owned by Barclays Bank or in other words Sheikh Mansour and Qatar Holdings so who knows!
  3. I think the good times will roll for a short spell of years. Dipping in the pension pot and from today bank and building society interest paid gross! But the day of reckoning will come. If some of the best actuarial brains can get it wrong, I personally don't think Jo Public has a hope in hell. And upgrading from Amber Gem 76 to Commadore 3 aint gonner pay that tax demand when it falls on the mat.
  4. The rag in question is owned by "Dirty Digger" Mugdock! What do you expect from a countryman who''s sun shines in the northern sky!
  5. It appears not any more Peter. They used to, nice white ones with the Crabber Logo. Could be collectors items now! Alot has changed at Crabbers in the last few years. Sure they are in fine financial fettle but their interior finish and a few other things are not what they were. IMHO.
  6. You can live in hope that you pick up a Cornish Crabber fender. That would be acceptable to a Drascombe. Just!
  7. We have heavy rain with hard bits. Started about ten minutes ago on the North Coast.
  8. I prefer a bit of soft bank to quay heading in a blow. Not much trouble to wash a bit of mud off the fenders.
  9. With Salhouse still closed??? I guess the answer is where they can. I think quayside mooring is going to be a problem at major holiday times this year.
  10. For years I drove German and was a VW Mercedes devotee. But like others here we now need a high rider. My other problem is a very arthritis prone left knee (Rugby injury induced) and with regular cross town trips taking my wife to the NNUH I have to have an automatic. But the Germans have gone so far down the Diesel route that unless I buy something about 240bhp I can't get a petrol auto in a high rider. Living in NE Norfolk I average about 18 miles a day at a very low average speed. I go months without being on a fast road so a DPF is a no no. Hopefully this rush of new Three cylinder petrols will address this problem fo me. Main dealers are also in short supply without going into Norwich just Nissan and Ford now that Stalham is no longer a Peugeot main dealer and Vauxhall in Holt. I will probably now stick to Nissan as I can get it serviced inMundesley, they collect the car from the village where I live, leave me a Micra or Note and bring mine back when done. Can't better that service.
  11. Nissan in the form of Crayford and Abbs is very convenient for you as I think you said your base is Holt. They have three high riders the X Trail, Qashqai and Juke. Can thoughly recommed C&As service. Toyota have a very exciting new car coming out the C-HR Seat have the new Ateca And the New Audi Q2 looks great as well.
  12. I wear a Citizen radio controlled chrono so I get an automatic reminder on Sunday morning if my age gets the better of me.
  13. Remember when sending your jackets for service that it is only certain carriers who will transport pressurised containers. Royal Mail for example will not.
  14. Storm Katie due to arrive Monday.
  15. Now officially "Storm Katie" on Monday.
  16. Um. The fire blanket looks remarkably like the one I have. I will have to check.
  17. If you are new to the boat follow Iain's advice. Warp her round and no harm can be done.
  18. Just downloaded the North Atlantic Grib Files. It looks very windy Sunday but especially Monday. A 997 low is on the cards.
  19. Marine Tech at South Walsham are the local Yam main dealer.
  20. Following the success of the DVLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I know this is the mail and they are on par with the EDP for accuracy but no smoke as they say: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3335816/End-paper-disc-sees-car-tax-evasion-soar-Number-cases-drivers-dodging-annual-payment-doubled-past-year.html
  21. What a lot of green agricultural land to build on either side of it. I think the character of those areas will change forever.
  22. They are designed to float, so must be a bit nautical
  23. I suppose another great British Institution and home of so many memorable tournaments will become the exclusive preserve of Chinese Billionaires and Russian Mafia.
  24. Talking golf, did anyone see that following the buyout of Wentworth by a Chinese, Hong Kong based consortium the members have to reapply for membership @ wait for it £100K joining fee. I hope everyone tells them to stuff it and leaves them holding £135m of debt.
  25. Go Outdoors, the camping shop are doing the above from £46 to £48. That is a saving of £20. I swear by Tilleys so I now have an additional wide brim airflow and an outback. It is years since they were so cheap.
