  1. I have never really thought of Felbrigg as Bure Valley but the waters of the lake actually make their way to Scarrow Beck that joins The Bure about two miles above Aylesham.
  2. That's fine. I bought them and never got round to fitting them. Ours were going yellow and brittle in the sun.
  3. I have a couple of white covers if they are of use to you. I sold the boat to a dealer and these were in the lazerette so I kept them.
  4. Good article. Yes it says it all.
  5. The very best of luck with those interviews.
  6. Sad to hear there will be no Beale Park Show this year and that there are no plans to try to to save it in the future. I always considered it "The Show" for the small boat sailor, lovers of wooden craft and beautiful workmanship. It was a "Must" for us when we lived in The Chilterns, a wonderful day out in a beautiful setting.
  7. Just remember Patio Magic is a very strong "Biocide" (kills Bio) and is a Marine Polutant. Note the aquatic warning.
  8. Excellent product but keep it off the windows
  9. Truma caravan and motor home heaters come with a spider cap to be used when the heater is not being used. The free flow of air for combustion and exhaust is critical for these sealed heaters.
  10. With the new road The Recruiting Sergeant at Horstead is a good bet. There are some very good eateries up here on The North Coast but you are adding quite a few miles. Come off the NDR at the North Walsham roundabout and it is just 5 minutes.
  11. Having worked most of my life in West London ESB, London Pride, and a Pride and Pride have been a constant in my life. I have just read that The Griffin Brewery of Fuller Smith and Turner in Chiswick has gone Japanese. Let us hope they don't change things too much.
  12. Probably contained some Hydrocarbon solvent to aid drying that is now banned, that would aid the smell.
  13. True but they are normally un-perfumed. VC is looking for "Bouquet" not just a "Fine Finish" a bit like a good Burgundy.
  14. You can buy Lavender Wax Polish from Amazon. Mansion Polish can still be bought but it is not the formulation of yesteryear and is more of a prof. Finishing product.
  15. I went to a Classic auction nearly four years ago. A concours Late Bug so probably Reliant built fetched just under £10K. The concours GT6 and TR5 that I was interested in both went for double their estimate and way out of my league.
  16. Chillout Solutions Boat Transport ( Paul and Yana ) now run out of Kingsley Farrington. They are boat owners and Paul is Owner Driver. They will do you an excellent job. They do alot of work for Windboats, pretty sure they took some Hardy boats to the Southampton show last year.
  17. Remember Marine VHF is a comms tool. It is mean't to be just that, for communicating. Not having a jaw about the weather or where do you fancy going for lunch.
  18. There is nothing wrong with the Claytonrite window seal for inland waterway use or sheltered estuary. They are not suitable for open water sailing because they can be "punched in". Going back to the 50s, 60s and 70s they were used extensively on boats, cars and caravans. One of their problems on boats was the accuracy of the builders jigsaw, especially on the corners where there was a tendancy to go oversize having pencilled round the pane, be it glass or plastic. On the plus side the system makes window replacement easy. Before working on such windows it is advisable to purchase a "Claytonrite Laceing Tool" to insert the tightening strip. Personally I have never had a problem with this type of window but have had plenty of leaks in the Seaglaze metal surround type. I think it is because they can flex with the boat more readily and there is no sealant to harden or have UV effect.
  19. That Ricko is so "fussy" you most likely would not notice a scrape. I was thinking of concrete quays like Reedham and brick like in locks.
  20. Not sure how it would stand up to scuffs and scrapes. Certainly a No. If on a waterway with locks.
  21. If the data concerning the accelerating melt in Antarctica is correct the report, as far as The Broads are concerned will be academic. If there never was a "Great Estuary" we are heading for one now.
