  1. Good job it’s a 4x4!!! Do run flats float? to be honest it’s probably not as bad his side of the marina.
  2. Apparently ting dene is closed due to severe flooding. No idea when it will open.
  3. Most people in caravans do it once!! My mate caught his van and gauged the side when he had to pass a truck coming the other way. His fault, he loved the site but won’t be going back.
  4. How many more pallets do you need to finish her off? how much original wood etc will be left? That looked a mammoth job? And they are extinct!!!!!
  5. Well mr scrumpy we did ours in reverse order this year as we are not home Christmas or Boxing Day. So the ham was cooked last night and mash and pickles. And you do NOT want to see the baked beans today!!!!! It was blooming gorgeous. I could eat it until I burst. In fact I nearly did. Now someone mentioned quiche? That isnt even real food. It’s a thick omelette!!! Can you tell im not a quiche lover? ha ha. Glad I spotted that little auto correct. That last line read “I’m not a quickie lover”!!!! happy Christmas and whatever you eat I hope you all have fun.
  6. Turkey crown? Sacrilege. Where’s the carcass for the soup? although that’s probably a busmans holiday for you Ian. Cooking that is. Is it nice to kick back and let someone else take the helm in the galley? Or are you a control freak?
  7. Discussion every year in the Runner house. Christmas Day is a roast be it turkey or something else. But Boxing Day was always cold meats. Now the big issue. I insist on mash, baked beans and pickles ( beetroot, red cabbage, onions, gherkins, mustard pickle) with my cold meats. Mrs Runner not sold on the baked beans. Does anyone else do the bean thing?
  8. Nice Power to weight ratio compared to that of a traditional lump though. And easier on parts!!!
  9. mike it’s all about safety now. Your sounding like clarkson. Get a BeeEm proper M and turn the traction control off. Having said that, my mate just got rid of his Nissan GT-R!! Holey cow was that a car. But boring unless you track it.
  10. Mr JA you cheeky devil. Is that triple SUs on a straight six? im going to show my ignorance and have to ask what the wagon was?
  11. Well Mr Scrimpy, burton down in the wilds of Essex (famed for ford tuning) tweaked the old 1275 up a bit. Made it bulletproof. i actually put a twin webber on it (mistake) and limenition electronic ignition (it was cheaper than a new distributor which was knackered). Problem was too much power for the main drive shaft in the gearbox which I snapped!!! Well it might have just been the abuse i gave it!!!!! ok I couldn’t afford an escort Mexico. But the firenza looked better.
  12. Ah The Austin all agro. At least we could fix them with a few tools, some wire and sticky back plastic.
  13. Back on the test. Do they still ask for stopping distances? Problem is they never ask if anyone knows how far 75m is? I know people who wouldn’t have a clue. I’m not even going to intimate that ladies don’t understand what 6 inches is.
  14. I have just moistened myself. A firenza with a droop snoop!!! 17 yr old dreams. that still looks gorgeous today and with twin Delortos. Better than Webber’s. Ooh I’m going to upset the ford boys now.
  15. And on cars with full size spares (I’m a big fan too). Bit of a problem in a sports car with different size wheels front and rear though. Mind you so is a space saver. When you try and put that bloody great wheel in the space a skinny little wheel has come out of the luggage has to go on the wife’s lap!!!
  16. Back on the test. Wonder why they don’t get people to change a wheel. Bet it's not just the gentler sex who may struggle. Or in modern day terms I guess use the tank of gunk!!!! In a demo mode of course. I’ve never used one, but can change a wheel in minutes. Learnt that wheel changing speed thing replacing the rear offside wheel on the hard shoulder of the m4 in pouring rain. With the highways boys watching me and telling me to drop everything and run if they shout. Cause either that or I will be dead!! Funny how that speeds you up. I can see those run flats haunting me now.
  17. They had the Dunlop denovo (or something like that) as well. didn't they get put on the mini 1275gt as standard?Different concept with the foam already inside in little cylinders. They were bloody horrible on the 1275gt and no where could fit them. I don’t like minis either for some reason. Great concept, but not for me.
  18. But when bmw deliver a demo car to you with a puncture their drivers are not allowed to drive them!!! It had to be recovered. Doesn’t give you much confidence in them Personally I hate run flats.
  19. What we need is dam across the bure and Yare to stop the sea levels affecting things . Paid for bybthe EA. With a lock for boat access. wont help the bridge heights at potter though, but might negate the need for dredging. of course the lock would break after 6 months so the BA could then save money manning it and save on the dredging. More money for leccy posts or moorings? Or PR campaigns to promote our beloved National Park this is a sarcastic comment
  20. This was the dyke going up to Silverline yesterday.
  21. Jm. I have a 12ft rowing boat. Never had a problem at all. Are you sure the odd gin palace - bearing in mind none of them go further than Bramerton (allegedly) are worse than the multitude of poorly maintained or very old broads cruisers? In fact any diesel spuing vessel? Far worse for me - I walk down the street and get second hand smoke, a man vaping in my face, diesel trucks, buses, vans cars. Petrol cars and motorbikes stinking me out. And half a dozen lovely boats give you grief? ones perspective is distorted imho.
  22. Great Yarmouth end of Breydon. As you go round the yellow buoy.
