  2. I tried to find my photo but Vaughan got there first. I assume the names of the wherries are known as they are at Rockland as well?
  3. If Griff is paying £x then I think I can see 8 puppies so that is £x X 8!! There's a lot of money in that picture Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  4. Over the years of communicating with Norfolk, I have found email probably the worst method. I use email a lot, my way of communication but this isn't always reciprocated and to be honest the phone works best but then there isn't a paper trail which sometimes you want! Having sent an email, with no response, I will ring and the answer is 'oh yes we got that' but needless to say they didn't respond to say 'thank you for your email etc. etc. '
  5. Which bunk did you take. Both were MINE but the port once was where the sink and two burner hob and grill were in her hire boat days. No oven and tap on the water tank ahead of you Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  6. Thank you for sharing. WR still means an awful lot to me and I have many memories. Once a year we always came south and would moor in Hardley Dyke (when you could - it was a hidden gem) In pre WR holidays, parents would always moor in Langley Dyke!! So pleased she is being used and enjoyed by others. Look forward to Grendel's future tales, but he will have watch he doesn't hit his head when cooking his tomatoes! 7. Chinese Water Deer? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  8. I had one purporting to be from a buyer on Ebay saying they wanted to buy an item from me. No reference to the item and when I went on Ebay no buyer message - into spam! Also the other day another one 'from the chair of a committee I am on' saying urgent I need your help please email me. This I didn't do because the email address wasn't that of the chair but I believe when other committee members have been caught out a reply usually comes with some dodgy links. I believe in this case they trawl through websites looking usually for the Treasurer details and then send an email supposedly from a committee member asking for an urgent payment. We don't have the Treasurer details on our websites Liz
  9. Lovely. Turns on a sixpence in these tight turning places! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  10. Hope you enjoy your stay on my ole boat. Enjoy her history! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  11. A work colleague (well the boss) has recently taken a dog from Cyprus - they rehome lots apparently. It been reserved for weeks but only recently it has been allowed to travel to England. There are lots of websites so I can't say which one they used.
  12. We encountered the fishermen with mega rods between Martham Ferry and West Somerton some years ago. You can't see the fisherman as he is hidden in the reed bed and then all of sudden you see this gigantic pole ...................
  13. I suspect I have posted these before taken by a brother sometime between 1963 and 1965! (Not strictly old boats of course)
  14. And another Hearts Cruiser!
  15. Was Mick Richardson originally based somewhere else in Potter? They had a fire at some point - hence name of the boatyard - Phoenix Fleet (rising from the ashes)
  16. Superb photo - can't disagree with the location of the Hearts cruiser!!!!
  17. What about the trees in the back ground? That's why I suggested Wood's Dyke in Horning? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

"All bookings will now be through the following number 01692 631101! " Posted on FB a short while ago!
  19. I never to my knowledge went into Daisy Broad so can't comment on that suggestion. My only alternative is Woods Dyke in Horning and the shed on the right was what was Compass Craft/Beardshaws in the 1970s and Ernest Woods/Peter Mallender? in the early 70s? Trees in the background look quite mature? Just found this website http://www.wisearchive.co.uk/story/growing-up-on-the-broads/
  20. Absolutely, and two people have to be in the house/boat!

  22. Are you sure this is Applegates - it looks terribly like the shed and dyke at Woods where the day boats now go from?
  23. There looks like a bridge or raised area to the right? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
