They're back... The road works outside MacArthy and Stone on the A149, just south of the Tescos turning in Stalham. Just what you need with queues from the Tesco PFS, and it being the easter Hols... They're back, The idiot protestors blocking the refineries..

Years ago Tesco's used to do a booklet showing all their stores, and their services. I used to travel using that to find petrol. Now I have to look online and pre research the routes..

Motorway services sites are owned by the government, who charge a huge rental,. Those that run the sites don't make a huge excess profit from it.. Motorway service fuel prices are just another tax on drivers..

OK .. who put the spy plane up, Just 'cos me and Blue Moon are well and truly aground and being rescued, (at 3 minutes in the video) So the video was recorded on the 27th March Probably around 15:30-16:00.. First day Of Horning Sailing Clubs 2022 season and the first day of sailing in Blue Moon since around 1999.

IF you are meaning hire boats yes they were popular.. There are much fewer sailing hire boats today. But in overall numbers now there are probably more sailing boats, as the number of private sailing boats increased dramatically from the 1960's onwards as people had more disposable income.

The Wroxham works weren't there when I went through yesterday morning, but was there this morning, but no sign of any work. Meanwhile... At the Junction of the A1151 and the A149 between Cats common and Wayford bridge, the road to North Walsham is closed off saying " Access only NO through road".

I can remember Snow in Coltishall in May /June late 1970's.. The RAF wouldn't put the heating on in the barrack blocks..... A lot of fan heaters were bought and used (illegally)

I've seen a large size working mini TV inside a shop... The shop was built to 4 mm to the foot scale that's on an 00 Gauge railway layout. you can get working displays under 1/2 inch across... They're made for the view finders of video cameras etc...

My err what did I do.... Um.... I went sailing in Blue Moon for the first time in about 23 years... Did things go right? Of course not. The sail seems to be too tall by about 6 inches. This meant I had to raise the mast by that amount. Blue Moon is down by the bows by a couple of inches, so I need to move my seat back a bit to balance the boat. This will mean moving all the cam cleats back by the same amount. And the steering controls. The jib club is fouled by the jib furler line. So a bit of reengineering is required.. But other than that I enjoyed my first sail in nearly 3 years...

Nice out there int it, Boat trailer attached to Landrover. Boat emptied , hovered out washed inside and out. All loose items from the boat loaded into the Landrover. Mast tied to roof of Landrover. Delivery plastic removed from number plate on trailer board. Warning triangle attached to bow of boat ( which is at the back) That's Every thing I can think of .. Read to take her to Horning tomorrow..

It's Back!!!! and only just over a month away. Saturday 30th APR 2022, Horning Boat Show, free, open to the public, based at the village and Swan Pub greens by the river plus up on the recreation ground.. Horning Sailing club, are having an open day. You may come just for a cup of tea, cheaper than anywhere else, we have no paid staff, it's all run by volunteers and have a break watching from the river front. Or you may go for a 20 minute - 30 minute trip in our sailing boats, Most are of the won't fall over kind, cos there's a big lump of lead hanging below.. Under 16's free, £5 for those over, we need to pay for insurance. (qualified helmsperson supplied) For those experienced and fit there are likely to be dinghies available. Life jackets supplied, we prefer flat shoes, High heels and varnished woodwork are not a good idea.. http://horningboatshow.com/ Me I'll probably be on Car Park duty..

Boat yards don't have the through put of a road garage, they have to pay more for the fuel themselves as they buy much less, and because they sell less, the costs have to be divided buy the fewer gallons sold..

Still no sign of the forecast road works... However some that have turned up is on the Coltishall - Hoveton road in the first dip on after the railway bridge leaving Hoveton.. traffic light contolled..

Sadly the only photos including my house are modern, with Blue Moon under a tarpaulin with work about to start.. The Swan Green at Horning was very differently laid out in the 1950's... Same happened to a lot of the records of all the railway locomotives built around the country. When BR started cutting back in the late 1950's to the 1970's they were mostly just taken out and burnt..

I should have photo'd the making of some 19mm by 5mm pulley wheels out of Acetal for the top block on the mast. Fun turning such small items on a wood lathe..

Ok folks, comb your hair, polish your shoes and be on your best behavior .. They are making a film about the 3RR this year, what form this will take, I have no idea, but you could be in shot on river or on the bank...

Actually I went through there this morning and no road works. But the road works web site still shows they are there.. So whether they have been delayed I don't know, Either way, I'll use the Coltishall route home again tonight.

Oh joy.. Road works in Wroxham again both on the A1151, One set by the florists 21-25th March Another set by Castle road 21 -25th March Another set on the 1151 between the NDR and the Rackheath turning, 21st to the 23rd.. and the B1140 Salhouse rd has multiple sets of works on it.. I think I'm going home via Coltishall..

More work done on the boat, now almost ready to launch,

Wayford bridge petrol station was up at 180.9 last night, but it's back down to 177.9 this morning..

No there were servants to ride post-haste to pass the messages..
