  1. She definitely didn't enjoy the journey! She whined the whole way there (and it took Graham and Harry a while to find the tiny South Walsham staithe) and 'dug in her heels' when they went back to the boat to return. I've just remembered I'm supposed to be posting this week on my 'live' thread. Normal service will resume over there tomorrow. There was just too much going on today for me to remember!
  2. Love the tomato plants. We sent out an SOS via our allotment WhatsApp group yesterday and fortunately have a couple of fellow plot holders who have volunteered to water our plot. I had visions of returning to a withered desert.
  3. Currently mudweighted on South Walsham Broad. Son Alec has rowed off to explore the inner broad.
  4. Thanks for the tip off about the dinghy hire Kevin. Much appreciated!
  5. Have you tried Avon ‘Skin so Soft’ dry oil? Works a treat, even deterring Scottish midges.
  6. Here… https://www.facebook.com/Monzuwoodfiredpizza/
  7. Actually the pennant looks good. You could just replace the halyard (string). If you are anywhere near us on the the Broads next week (we’ll be there from tomorrow), Graham will be bringing some spare stuff to make a new halyards with us. He’s recently taken to making some new pennants for Moonlight Shadow.
  8. Couldn’t find one of those online but they do have these… https://shop.rnli.org/products/rnli-recycled-sails-small-burgee?_pos=1&_sid=8ef3c952e&_ss=r
  9. What!???! I know it was a little cooler yesterday evening, but…
  10. My two aren't exactly kids any longer. They're 31 and 29, but they still love messing about in a dinghy. It's a wonder they still want to come with us on a holiday.
  11. I do love these 360 views. Gives one a completely different perspective of the area and a glimpse beyond the banks/quays.
  12. Will do Warren. You'll have to wait until after the holiday though, until I write up my usual long-winded spiel.
  13. By the way, I will be switching to my 'Live Carried Away by a Moonlight Shadow' thread from tomorrow.
  14. My sons are going to be so pleased. Based on a tip off on our WhatsApp group from a fellow syndicate member I phoned Horning Pleasurecraft this morning and booked a sailing dinghy for the week.
  15. Stop it Malcolm! You're making me feel very hungry!
  16. Have a lovely day. It should be nice and shady in the gardens. Last time we were there we were very impressed with the cakes in their cafe.
  17. Thanks for the tip, I think I read somewhere that they are occasionally at Ludham caravan site.
  18. We’ll at least all the NBN members reading this now know how to spot you! Not that your boat isn’t distinctive as it is.
  19. I think we’ll have to fit in some really long cruising days as Harry, Alec and I all like having our turn on the helm.
  20. Only two sleeps to go!…to our next jaunt on Moonlight Shadow. Amazingly both our sons have decided to join us this time, which I’m absolutely delighted about. Graham set off early this morning to Bournemouth to pick up our younger son from Bournemouth, where he’s been living this past year. He’s brought so much stuff home with him though. We have no hope of sorting that lot out tomorrow as packing for our holiday will have to take priority.
  21. That’s an impressive piece of belly pork! I’ve had my eye on those Cob cookers for a while, but I’m not sure I can justify the purchase with Graham having gone veggie.
  22. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a good time despite a few drawbacks with the the boat/dinghy.
  23. Sounds and looks like you had a brilliant time - and even better weather!
