  1. That's what we were thinking. We know what we want at least. Now just have to find it. The few that are currently for sale are too old (they vastly improved the spec from 2017 onwards) or have far too many miles on them.
  2. For the first time in a long time we have absolutely no idea what we are doing for holidays this year Our Easter trip on the Thames has been cancelled and we had nothing else booked for the rest of the year. It will very much be a wait and see year for us. We don't really want to book anything because we don't know when we will find the right motorhome for us. If it starts getting a bit late in the year with nothing cropping up we will probably book a week on a boat on the Broads.
  3. I'm not sure how true that is. Someone with the virus can easily spread it around a supermarket for example not knowing that they are doing so and not breaking any rules. The same applies to public transport and facilities. I agree that there are some bending the rules or blatantly ignoring them but I do believe that the vast majority of people have been following the guidance which is evident in the massive drops in new cases.
  4. No I have not and I have no plan to either. There are two local testing stations but they are for people who can not work from home. I can work from home so see no need to take a test.
  5. It is not quite so simple as that. If someone is displaying no symptoms then how are they to know that they should be getting tested or should be self isolating? It is easy to blame other people and their behaviour but with a third of people who have tested positive displaying no symptoms it is difficult to isolate this group to prevent the virus spreading.
  6. They can stay in the shed or we have a couple of tents to choose from. In fact, given how busy holiday accommodation is going to be this summer you might be onto something there...............
  7. It's on my property so I assume so!
  8. Very true. Either way it is too late for our Thames trip so we are taking a full refund and buying a shed instead. We know how to live
  9. Holiday freedom starts on 12th April
  10. No. If you read the details there are no overnight stays allowed until 12th April.
  11. Which won't be a problem given it is going to Ireland
  12. Sorry the boat is Under Offer with the sale completing imminently.
  13. If the news is right then day trips will be allowed from 29th March and the stay at home, stay local order will be removed so you should be able to see it then.
  14. Judging by what has been written in the news this morning this is a mute point anyway. Overnight says will not be permitted for at least the five weeks following the 29th March so Easter holidays will not be allowed. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56148160
  15. You dont need to be on a pub crawl to enjoy a few drinks while afloat.
  16. A lot of things have been suggested but until Boris announces anything tomorrow it is all just speculation.
  17. It is my opinion and we are all allowed one. I don't see it as an enjoyable holiday if a large part of it won't be available. Judging by how the previous lockdowns have been unwound it is a mute point either way as hospitality, holiday accommodation and pubs and restaurants have all opened at the same time each time. There is little to suggest that this time will be any different. I suspect those hoping for an Easter get away are going to be deeply disappointed.
  18. We are due to pick up a hire boat on the Thames on good Friday. I would prefer not to be able to go if the pubs are going to be shut. For us visiting pubs waterside and not is part of our holiday. As much as we like being on the water on the boats we also want to enjoy the towns and villages that we pass through and for us that includes the pubs. Honestly I would rather Boris didn't open holiday accommodation for Easter if the pubs can't also be open.
  19. No but I'm pretty certain we can disconnect it after a few hours running 😲
  20. Keep looking at our garden thinking it's about time we should get out there and start to have a tidy up ready for spring. That's as far as we get though, just thinking about it.
  21. Checked the paperwork this morning it is £6.83 per hour for Consul which we have booked on the Thames. Personally I think that is way too much. It costs nothing like that per hour to run our KAD32 on the river so I can't see how a smaller Nanni will get near that even accounting for diesel heating. It isn't as though the cost of the boat is cheap either!
  22. Yes. It could actually be more for the boat we have on the Thames. I think the £5 might have been for the smaller boat we initially hired in Belgium. Either way it works out much more expensive than any other boat we have hired. The most we have paid for a fuel deposit previously has been £150 and we got £60 of that back after a week. That was on Swan Ranger from Richardsons and we did a fair amount of engine hours running that week especially as the batteries were none so clever! I really don't like Le Boats fuel pricing in the slightest.
  23. Must have. It is a price per hour now which is ridiculously expensive. About £5 per hour from memory!
