Latest update seems to suggest only one boat involved that has hit a wall:
BBC News - Great Yarmouth boat crash: 'Woman in river' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-53834369
You will still have a good two and a half hours of daylight if you get to the bridges heading north for 5.40pm.
That is plenty of time to get to Stracey, Stokesby, Acle or further upstream if needs be.
ÂŁ20k worth of dogs there, plus some for the b itch!!!!!!!
I'm in the wrong line of work clearly
ETA: Mum looks pleased with herself but I bet shes a bit hot and bothered with that little lot today!!
It isn't just the disposal of batteries that should be of concern but also the manufacturing of them. The materials have to come from somewhere and mining them is not a "green" process.
In the past we have filled up at Sutton, Barnes Brinkcraft and the yard at Pedro's, Acle.
From memory Barnes Brinkcraft were the cheapest of that lot.
On the south we almost always go to Goodchilds for fuel.
We have always tended to hire boats out of season either at the beginning or end of the hire season and have always enjoyed hiring at that time of year. Picking the right boat without drafts has been the key to comfortable out of season hire.
With our own boat we have boated all year round in complete comfort. There are very few places on CRT waters that provide electric hook up so we have to be sure that our batteries are up to the job of keeping the heating running to keep the boat warm. We have it on a timer so that it comes on and heats the boat up before we get out of bed.
We make sure that we have decent wet weather gear onboard for when we have to go through locks in rubbish weather.
The food in the Fur and Feathers is worth the walk. It isn't all that far 15 minutes from the moorings.
If you book a meal at Pedro's they will also reserve you a mooring. We like it in the basin there of the main river.
Missed this yesterday but we usually head to Stokesby on the first night from Richardsons.
Breaks us away from the pack of other boats leaving and usually means that we are a day or so ahead of them most of the time. We usually head onto the Southern Broads for a few days and then head back north.
It is always a hard decision to make. We made it last year and then circumstances this year have seen the sale fall through and us end up keeping NC for this year and maybe next.
We are finding it just isn't the same though. We are not enjoying our time onboard as much as we were previously. In part I think this is because we had our minds made up that the boat would be going and we would be moving on.
I wish you well in whatever path you next decide to take.
