  1. Good evening, not sure if there are any experts out there that can help me……. Is it possible to walk safely from the moorings at Ludham Bridge to The Kings Arms in Ludham? Thanks in advance for any help, advice or maps!
  2. They look amazing.... can you tell me how to get to the Secret Garden from the moorings at How Hill? Thank you in advance!
  3. A good option for the elastic laces are Lock Laces, available on Amazon.....
  4. I've recently switched to talkmobile (part of Vodafone and therefore uses their network) from Sky.... a seamless switchover, very well priced for SIM only and a bonus of EU roaming included for when holidaying abroad..... Highly recommended!
  5. Thanks for the responses so far...... Can I ask re mooring at Oulton Broad and Beccles - do you have to moor at the Yacht Stations, or are there other options?
  6. We are coming to The Broads in mid May, hiring from up North for a week, we plan to go South for 3 days. Any recommendations for places to eat at either lunchtime or in the evening would be great. Thanks in advance!

You're back.... have a great time.... what's the boat and plan re where to go?
  9. Let's hope so, a 'must' try for everyone visiting The Broads........
  10. This one works, the initial link posted doesn't work and is slightly different file name....
  11. Hi - I did have an update from Keith tonight via Facebook, Flavours is now closed for the winter and will reopen in March for the new season. We love the place and look forward to returning next year.
  12. Been to Flavours a couple of times, both meals outstanding, got to be one of the best chefs on The Broads.......
  13. Pretty sure they are both still valid, I think they are each worth £1 of electricity..... which will not last as long as it used to! I am sure the experts will say if otherwise.....

    Acle Moorings

Thanks, yes we are aware, we saw your message on another thread and it reminded us..... we will be giving the boat back on the morning of 27th so will avoid it all..... I'm glad and sad at the same time!

    Acle Moorings

Thanks, they would be my first choice too..... again, I am just a bit concerned they will be full when we arrive!
  16. Hi - we are due on The Broads for a week from 20th May, one of our overnight moorings (before going South for a few days) is likely to be Acle.... (as I am concerned that we will not be able to get in at Stokesby as it may be full when we get there!)... can anyone tell me if they are aware of the latest position re availability and costs to moor on the old Pedros side of the river? From what I have seen on here and the various Norfolk Broads Facebook groups I am aware Pedros have closed and the land is owned by Richardsons - does anyone know if you can still moor there, are there any fees..... or for that matter any plans people are aware of that may change things? Thanks a lot in advance.....
  17. Very jealous...... counting down the days to our May week..... can't wait, might even be warm!
  18. Just found a YouTube video from 2019 when someone was onboard Bolero and it definitely didn't have anything in terms of seating on the top deck then, so unless it's changed in the last 2yrs you will need those cushions!
  19. Lucky you.....enjoy and have one for me!
  20. Fur & Feather is my guess......... I wish I was there, going along the line of Ales one by one.....
  21. I like Ranworth for a place to stop during the day, not a bad place to sit up top and get a bit of Norfolk sun whilst having lunch and maybe a beer, watch the world go by, bit of people watching etc. Always find a nice walk there too for an hour or so, very peaceful roads that are easy to walk on. Then there's a bit of electric and water if needed. It's not one of my favourite places to stop over night as we are all rammed in like sardines but that's personal choice. As for getting in there, we came up in May and October and visited both times, each time getting straight in, I wouldn't wait ages on a mud weight for somewhere to come free but I would have had a look to see if anyone looks like they are leaving..... I am generally pretty lucky at getting in but that's partly as I am happy to have a go slowly at getting in anywhere where my boat will fit..... I think too many people either look at it and maybe wrongly think it's full or are maybe too daunted by stern on moorings into what looks like a hole that's too small to fit their boat!
  22. Thanks, yes I have already booked so no, there is no avoiding Breydon.......
  23. I am a bit nervous about it, I will be taking extra care at St Olaves in particular now after seeing the latest hire boat stuck under there on youtube, I am glad I wasn't hiring that the week after them..... Anyway, I will see what the tides and weather are like when we arrive in May, it's a long way away and if I have to stay North either because of high tides or winds then it's hardly a disaster is it
