  1. All too common an occurance grendel. Some people go into overdrive if anyone tries to tell them what to do. Just last night I reported a group of kids who started knocking down a neighbours garden wall when they were out. I had one come running up behind me with a brick in hand. I turned around and said are you f****** serious and the response I got was "What". Couldn't of been any older then 13-14. Reported to the police straight away. Branden
  2. Personally I would inform the hire company as if they mention it to the hirer they'll be thinking "oh s*** how did they find out it was us" people are inconsiderate but won't do it if they know they can be caught. Branden
  3. Looks like they've patched the corner with some Herbert Woods wood Branden
  4. It's very much a Them and Us situation between the forums in my view. Anyone's welcome to NBN but we don't want to become Them and they don't want to become Us. I personally wouldn't want to see NBN become a mirror of another forum because I prefer this forum for a reason but at the same time I wouldn't want to miss out on anything Broads related and if anyone from the other forum has useful info to share on here I'll certainly want to be able to read it. 6. You'd think the strap would pull out if the phone was dropped. There are lots of aftermarket straps but I miss the security of it being secured to the structure of the phone. Funnily enough I used to use the strap to hang the phone on a hook more than I ever did as an actual wrist strap.
  7. A little random but I wondered if anyone on here's phone still has a little channel in the corner to attach a wrist strap? I had my phone out of its protective case to give it a clean and the slippery bugger jumped straight out of hand. It got me to thinking how my old button phones always came with a wrist strap but I've not seen a phone come with one for years now. As phones get thinner and sleeker there must be alot of people having them slip out of their hands. Maybe that's why we all buy a protective case as soon as we get a new phone. Branden
  8. Shame we couldn't buy a single card, top the card up as much as we like but be able to also load as much as we like onto a meter if that makes sense.
  9. I had a lovely set of tools onboard. Nowadays I have a powerful magnet on a piece of string because all my tools keep falling in the bloody water. Branden
  10. B.I.L's named her WATT. Before his brain tumor he loved fiddling around with anything electrical. These days he's completely deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other so it's also a play on words. If someone asks what he's named the boat he keeps saying WATT WATT and everyone assumes it's because of his hearing Branden
  11. Went to the mooring yesterday to do a few odd jobs on B.I.L's boat, got as far as climbing onboard then had to run as daughter had been in a crash with grandad. Both are fine but meant we didn't get a chance to do anything on the boat. Was a gorgeous day aswell. The curse of the boat Branden
  12. The gopro studio is fine with the footage straight from the sd card but once you've exported the footage then try to reload it into the studio say to make tweaks it just wants none of it. Movie maker was a God send, all finished within a couple hours and managed to also save a 8x speed video. Not everyone wants to watch 2 hours of Boat footage so 8x works out about 15mins so gives the viewers a more manageable view of the journey. May add some background music to the 8x speed then upload both videos today. Branden
  13. P.s I charged my phone and camera at Reedham using someone's left over electric
  14. I went to WRC Tuesday tried all my old cards then my new contactless cards then realised they have they're own cards. I'm getting quite a collection of cards onboard. The boat next to me loaded up £4 electric and used 38p overnight then left at first light. Branden
  15. It's turning out to be a right pain to get the 17seconds of video onto the start of mine, 3 failed attempts during processing with gopro studio, now on Windows movie maker and seems to be working. Down to the fact my videos are between 1-2 hours long. Wish me luck with upload time to YouTube. Branden
  16. I've got my Boats Eye View videos (Cruising the southern broads, view from the bow unedited no music). Got 2 new videos for YouTube could put the ident at the start?
  17. I'm sure if I saw his face I'd know him. Everyone knows everyone down there especially the more eccentric ones.
  18. My old home town. If you see a beat up rowing boat float by let me know. Lost it about 10 years ago but it keeps coming back again with the tide. Branden
  19. He's still got a few bits to do on the boat so fingers crossed he sticks with it. His brother also has a boat project which he'd given up on, but seeing this boat make it on the water has made him think about finishing his project rather than selling.
  20. Well the launch went well, she didn't sink. I was on my boat incase B.I.L's had any issues. The engine cut out once while leaving the slipway but restarted easy enough. After a while cruising she was running sweet, no leaks Only problem was the windscreen blew out and broke, we'd forgotten to rivet the top in place so it basically blew straight off. B.I.L's a happy chappy so I'm sure anyone on the south side will see him out and about. P.s we made it to the pub and it was finally open. Branden
  21. This may be a question for Wildfuzz. Hello all, I've just been to top up the portable fuel tank ready for a trip on the boat tomorrow and I was strongly advised at the pump that it's actually illegal to fill up my fuel tank and carry it in the car without specific signage on the car to indicate I'm carrying a large quantity of fuel. My question is is the info correct. I have noticed the signs on the pumps that say 2x 5ltr plastic Jerry or 1x 10ltr metal tank. My tank is 12L plastic Honda fuel tank and I also have a 22L quicksilver tank. Both of which I regularly fill up at the pump. If it is illegal I'll have to make a couple trips with 5ltr Jerry or possibly get away with it by putting my fuel tank in my pushbike trailer. Branden
  22. I forgot about the NBN discount, I've been in and out of Brian wards countless times in the past few months. Branden
  23. It's been a while since I've posted an update as I've been waiting till some progress had been made. It's been a mad rush to get things finished as B.I.L decided to move house and the new home won't have space for the boat. It's been weeks of packing the house and getting that side of things sorted then the past couple days has been fibreglassing, filling, painting, windscreen, testing outboard, sorting documents etc etc. The one bonus for me is that B.I.L has changed his mind about fitting electrics. After a midnight cruise aboard my dandy he's decided he wouldn't cope with night navigation so won't be needing electrics. There's still work to be done, but for now I have one photo to upload and the next will be on launch day in the next week or two. Branden
