  1. Far from misleading us, he has given us all a heads up as to what is happening. As a lot of us plan a year ahead when booking boats it could have a bearing on bookings if too many of the lovely moorings down South go by the wayside. Proper moorings and I call them are far more relevant down South than up North where you can practically rock up wherever you are and stop. You try doing that down South.
  2. Dont forget your jabs though - we are a funny lot down here. Nearly forgot to say well done. Just shows you how all this negative press just is so wrong.
  3. Might I suggest - Flying Carpet. Well it goes along with Flying Pigs in this instance.
  4. So true, we are planning to come South on a boat in 2024 but really now thinking of cancelling the whole idea.
  5. What is also annoying about losing one of the best moorings on the Broads ie Langley Dyke is that you could dump your rubbish there. Now we have lost that facility. More expensive tolls and yet less bang for your buck!
  6. Well why speculate, I have contacted the BA and asked the question.
  7. Lummy I thought I was the only cold mortal in the whole world. Well according to my other half. I am with you Carole and have the heating on as well, especially this last week.
  8. Here in Norfolk it is blooming freezing cold and lunchtime in Worlingham we had heavy rain, I mean what is going on? I looked at the web cam for West Bay in Dorset and everyone is in shorts and Tee shirts. I am thinking of putting the heating on.
  9. Can this be deleted as I can see already posted unless you want the single shot. Sorry Jean , not paying attention.
  10. Oh dear that is not good. How about asking your neighbours although you probably have. I looked on Craigs list and it said not registered since 2008. May be whoever has it has registered it in another name and reg number or as Smoggy has suggested it is still there , just not visible.

  12. Hope you both had a good journey home. I have noticed on some of the recent YouTube videos of Ludham Bridge a lot of Richos older boats as you say. Like yourselves there is only the two of us, so the cost is not shared. Some of the hotels on the water type of boats are beyond expensive. After all you dont want to buy it or put a deposit down on it you just want to hire it. I do hope they build some more sensible boats for 2 or 4 people, something that you can moor. These days a couple of these huge boats at what used to be a mooring for 4 boats is a mooring for 2.
  13. And what is good about the trip boat is there is a loo on board and I do believe at certain times a Bar.
  14. Well if HW yard is anything to go by at the moment , they are doing quite well, lots of boats out when I looked yesterday, even from their stock yard. A bit like half term. I wondered if the nice weather and the Bank Holiday had something to do with it. Quite a few have returned this morning or probably last night.
  15. I see there is a Haines in the harbour this morning. Just like we get on the Broads.
  16. I for one , having hired a Topliner in the past, many many years ago, would love to see some photos if you have any that you can share with us. Our Topliner was the version which we referred to as the floating bed and people seemed to pass in other boat and be fascinated by the fact that the main part was the bedroom. Lovely and comfortable I must say.
  17. Is it very busy at the moment on the North Broads? I guess the extra day off on the Monday is helping.
  18. Thank you. I think I know where you mean now. Hubby has always wanted to veer off up there and I wasn't that keen. Didn't know whether or not it was private. Just looked at the web cam at Horning showing The Ferry Pub, are the flags left over from the Coronation or are we celebrating something else this week.
  19. Enjoy another fantastic evening. The weather could not be better. Where on earth is Wood End?
  20. I can only go by the fact that many years ago we hired Silver Simoon for 14 days it was neigh on £3,000. That was before prices went stupid. Couldn't afford it nowadays I can tell you. We tend to go for 4 nights now or occasionally 7.
  21. I know they are pricey but they are also a high standard. No different than Brooms. Silverline also used to be quite pricey but they are now Richardsons as you know.
  22. Goodness me, not that hot in worlingham, still got that keen Easterly . Enjoy this evening.
  23. Thank you. She does look good doesn't she. Were you moored at Wroxham in the photo above. Your breakfast sounded really tasty even if it did take an hour to cook. Enjoy every moment of this glorious weather, I know it is a tad windy at the moment but you cant have it. Can we.

    Plan B

We will be on Aqua Emblem. We get up about 4.30 - 5.00 on these light mornings. We are not Night Owls so early to bed and get up early. So early tides , as long as no fog about will be just the ticket.
