  1. So not actually floating then , it did rather look like it.
  2. To clarify , that 'boat' is a mould isn't it, it doesn't look like a proper boat.
  3. There is a sporting expression - see ball hit ball , well see water - float your boat.
  4. You want to make God smile - make a plan is the saying. I saw a group of guys obviously off fishing on their hire boat but had to take it from outside of HW as has been said the barrier has been raised once more.
  5. Just as it was all drying up too.
  6. I wonder why the pumps were going like mad at HW.
  7. Well obviously something is just not as it should be. Without your health you have nothing is the saying and it is so true. Let us hope and pray that Richard improves and can sort this out. It does seem such a shame that a wealth of information from over the years could be lost.
  8. Our thoughts are with you and your bro-in-law Griff.
  9. That's a comfort knowing I am not the only one who muddles these two up.
  10. I stand corrected and you are right, sorry , I even live locally and walk there and yet I still get it muddled with Hardley Dyke, yes definitely Langley Dyke.
  11. Hardley Dyke is a real sore point, not least of all it was a good place to dispose of your rubbish. Quiet, good fishing when you could, pleasant walks, no minus points whatsoever and guess what , they got rid of it. I mean you could not make it up and we are supposed to be encouraging tourism. I think the problem is we are encouraging the wrong kind of tourism, The Broads are not Butlins.
  12. I did not know that. My grandfather's grave is one of the first as you go up the lovely steps into the cemetery , he was only 19 and died before my father was born. He was in the Royal Air Force and flew a tiny plane which looked as if it had been tied up with string. This was a sketch he did after his first flight.
  13. Oh gosh Vaughan that's me gone , it is all so sad. My grandfather is buried at Outtersteene Communal Cemetery at Bailleul which is near the Belgium border. When we lived in Kent we used to go over using the Eurotunnel quite regularly to visit but too far these days. The cemetery is kept so beautifully and all of the local people have respect for it. Unlike unfortunately over here in some areas. I can see the box of tissues coming out today.
  14. Never seen this before.... Must have been busy in Horning at The Swan.
  15. I agree whole heartedly Gracie. I have two granddaughters and they and my son and daughter in law seem to have the most lavish holidays, it seems every 5 minutes and I always think to myself there must be some poor soul in that class room having to listen to all this. As much as I am grateful beyond belief that they have got a good lifestyle I do wonder in the future what chaps will have to achieve to keep up with all this. This is being written by someone who has been there and definitely worn several T-shirts in the past of having not a pot to p.. in. I give a Broads holiday 5 stars every time.
  16. Crumbs is that how people think these days. Having to worry about what the Jones's are doing or thinking about you and kids have to be able to say they went aboard.
  17. Let us hope it is a one off with this storm we have just had.
  18. Speaking of bridges. I saw a Youtube video taken a few days back of Ludham Bridge and the guys from Richardsons were there at the Bridge with water barrels to assist getting their boats through the Bridge. This reminds me of Potter Heigham Bridge some years ago.
  19. Tampering with electric can prove fatal. Is this person a qualified electrician by chance.
  20. Thank you I shall keep your maps in my holiday box.
  21. Wait till they hear that I want to moor there, you can bottom dollar it will be closed to us. A bit like the Free TV licence that when I go to 75 , that was cancelled. Thank you so much for your very detailed explanation, you must have known I was wondering and looking at Google maps but with my pusher that does seem doable.
  22. Sorry late to the post but can I just ask, the Morrisons mooring in Norwich, how far is the Morrisons from there. Our old legs dont walk too far these days. Is it obvious that it is a mooring?
  23. Saw this and thought of Lads Week.
