  1. You put that better than me Griff 👍
  2. Switch off the battery isolators but ensure bilge pump (s) are still live.
  3. To bring the threat back on topic 😃 To answer your question Andrew I would not worry about my boat until the power has been off for several months. Yes I know my boat has solar panels but this is the first boat I have had that has had them. It is also the first boat I have had that has mains hook up. Previous boats used to sit there quite happily for 3 or 4 months over the winter and then start first time. Just make sure your batteries are in good condition and you have nothing draining to earth. The only thing that is live on my boat is the bilge pump and that only operates sporadically. Other boats I have owned had much larger water ingress into the bilges when it rained and have coped without issue. Last year was the first year that I have left my boat connected up to shore power during the winter and that was only to power a de humidifier.
  4. What no Forum Flag ðŸĪŠ Oh yes I remember now. Blooming postal strike so I did the fastest ever docking of a Bulk Carrier at Tilbury Power Station then got home to find Mrs FF had the car all packed for our journey to Norfolk (not living here then) to arrive just in time for the official Launch Ceremony at John Williams and hand it over. Don't know if you remember but we did have an alternative plan which involved daughter bringing one over from Norwich
  5. Something similar happened with us at the White Horse Neatishead One of our company had a Flatbread which was very hard. He just mentioned it when the waitress took away his plate and although he was insistent he didn't want anything knocked off the bill she was equally insistent and did so. So as you say it's how they deal with it that leaves a lasting impression. 👍 To both places
  6. You should be okay at the White Horse. We did leave some Missie Malt behind for you. Must have just missed you.
  7. Hit it with big hammers ? 😜😁ðŸ˜ģ
  8. Silverline Boats all at Stalham today.
  9. Just in case anyone wants to take photos it looked like Richardson's Crew getting ready to get the boats from Acle this morning when I passed just before 9
  10. You little tinker. 😜😁😜
  11. And at one time run by a rather good Folk Singer who is also (In) famous for running a riverside pub at Reedham
  12. All I can say is I sincerely hope your fears are not realized ðŸ˜Ĩ Other than that I totally agree with you. Oh and while I think about it do they still pretend to do pump outs at Norwich Yacht Station?
  13. Thanks Paul. Never thought of those ðŸ˜Ĩ Ours was built down that dyke as well. But not at Shadow.
  14. I suppose the only good thing to come from this is there may be another facility for Diesel and Pump Out in the area as an alternative to the other one. There does seem to be a bit of a shortage in that section of The Yare. Silverline were not available for this last season when we called them to enquire. Does anyone know if this will be the case or not?
  15. As I have mentioned in another discussion I had cause to shift one of BB s hybrids last year. Always thought they were just a box ticking novelty but I was actually quite impressed. 👍 As I backed away from the berth in total silence I increased the throttle and the diesel started. So there is a capacity for silent cruising but obviously as not an owner of one just how much I don't know. Still does not address the issue of a diesel starting to boil a kettle though. I suppose if, and that is a big IF there was sufficient electrical infrastructure then it would not be an issue at moorings. I know this is a thread drift but allowing for poor Journalism I don't think our diesel boats are under threat of being banned any time soon.
  16. Ah well you will just have to take my word for it . The Hooligan sitting on Mrs FF ' s lap as he is not allowed on the settee ðŸ˜Ĩ
  17. What's that. And I have a pretty dog picture. ðŸĪ— Well truth is you have. 👍 She is a pretty girl and yes that is a great picture . Beautiful dog on a Beautiful background with just a bit of smart boat in foreground to give context. 👍 As you well know I love a good looking dog ðŸķ Nice one 👍
  18. Could they not reverse the current on wind turbines and generate a constant wind so we can all sail ðŸĪŠ
  19. It's OK it's a left hand drive one 😁 On another note, very nice looking boat but I don't know if it's me viewing on my phone but the pictures are awful
  20. My last car had oil and filter change scheduled for 20k intervals. I did it every 10k and got rid of the car shortly after it hit 250k miles as I knew there was a potential problem at 250k when the cam chain tended to let go. Lot of miles when I did 220k of them 👍
  21. After the very expensive year we have had this year I am hoping to do absolutely nothing over the winter apart from the routine maintenance. I think I feel a separate thread coming on. ðŸĪ”
  22. A friend of mine looked at a similar boat for sale earlier this year and I went to accompany him. I was rather impressed with the space inside. They had improved the rake of the otherwise very steep entry steps by doing away with the mid boat galley which in turn had made the only 2 berth bedroom C/W ensuite rather luxurious. The now very impressive galley was where the fwd cabin would normally be. Of course the saloon was the same as any other of its class and very good. Overall a very impressive 2 berth 👍 My friend did not buy due to the exposed access to the fore deck particularly when the top was down and the only interior access being the side steps. If you can live with these "faults" as many people do when hiring/buying this design it is a great boat all folded into a 37' hull.
  23. I think they are trying to gauge if their bow thruster is working or not.ðŸ˜ģ
