  1. Chuffin Eck, Ludham Bridge only had 7ft3”. Had to go alongside with wind blowing us off the port grassy bank. We nearly lost her. Nightmare - more later on this later. Now safe and underway for Irstead once again Griff
  2. COP - binned Wroxham. Watered at Southgates now bound for Irstead. Presently cruising down the Bure, some reaches have 1ft waves. The river is very high. All in All in a fine day to be afloat. Griff
  3. Does the Bure Hump and the undredged lower Bure have a job? The Cynic in me says it might, keep water levels artificially high to save the Ba having to dredge / maintain the navigation to the standards that the Port Commissioners used to do Griff
  4. No noticeably low waters experienced where we’ve been since arriving Friday. We have the undredged lower Bure to thank for that What has been noticeable are these persistently high winds still got them this morning last night was proper noisy especially the gusts. I’m going to make for Wroxham today at some point today. Getting of this quay is gonna be challenging Griff
  5. 0330 galley doors blew open, woke me up - resecured, MrsG not clipped them properly earlier. High water levels, strong gusts, noisy fenders. Warm, dry and safe onboard Need to get back to sleep Griff
  6. I would offer that Sandford definitely is Griff
  7. We made Horning with no issues. Yes it was windy but seen it worse. Now alongside The Green. Shore power on. Then? It snowed Photo’s - since taken I have since shuffled ‘B.A’ up a bit to give more room for any other potential visiting craft (Oh yes I have) Griff
  8. New pump fitted and operational after the compulsory mucking about where the plumbing is concerned. It’s chunkier and heavier. £183 open wallet surgery what with reducers, s/steel J clips, bronze elbows. It’s working like a gudden, however this pump shifts more water per minute than the shower head supplies, need to be mindful of that Griff
  9. Stuff it. We have sailed for Horning. So far so good. Approaching Thurne windpump. I’m going on a live feed on Fb when we meet the Bure. River levels are proper high Griff
  10. Amazingly we have survived another night Right, enough is enough. Going stir crazy here at Womack Water. Shower drain pump has finally packed up. It is over 20 years old. Having treated it to a service kit last year, the motor has turned its last. Robin to the rescue and off to Wards in his car. Once he’s back I’ll fit the thing - needs some jiggery pokery on the plumbing apparently, you just kinda know it’ll be fighting me. Then? We are going to have a go at making Horning. Need FW and plugging into shore power would be nice. It’s still proper windy though Griff
  11. Knocked on E.L and again this morning, missed them - no one home Griff
  12. Sunday 9th Stern on at Womack Water yesterday at 1640. Got settled in for the night. Dinner onboard. I think that Norfolk Nog might be our neighbour on Evening Light. During the early hours at around 0400 strong gusts of wind experienced. I took the precaution of tie wrapping the canopy bars to the side battens then tie wrapped them onto the wheelhouse sides. Glad I did. This forenoon the gusts increased in strength. So, 2nd mudweight deployed both out to port, plus a 50ft port head rope to shore we were still getting moved around. Command Decision move to a port side berth arrangement, 2 x headropes, back spring, doubled on stern rope, mast down bearing in mind 80mph gusts forecast this afternoon. Originally we had planned to sail today for Thurne / Bure, Ant overnight then onto Stalham in the morning to collect a mate. Not anymore, I’m not putting ‘B.A’ at risk, nor me n MrsG. He will just have to come to us here. We ain’t going anywhere in this Griff
  13. K’nell, some proper strong noisy gusts came through about half an hour ago. Apparently this is just the start, it’s supposed to be worse come 0600. So far so good. ‘B.A’s canopy is still in place Griff
  14. No real issues here at WW as of yet. Yes a bit blustery but that’s all, it is steadily increasing Griff
  15. 2235, All quiet and relaxed here at W.W Griff
  16. COP - Sailing in 5 for Womack Water. Need to be somewhere sheltered for this evening / morning. Windows will wait till tomorrow Griff
  17. I was cleaning but then forumites arrived they live in next village to us. Ferzan is their boat. The boys wanted to see onboard. Upper scuppers completed. Now just got the glass to do. MrsG commented I’d made a rubbish job of them before I have even done them She has gone back to La’tharms - second visit Griff
  18. 8ft 4 at Ludham Bridge that was handy, no need to drop the screen Griff
  19. Over Barton, cruising to PH. All to the good. Internally ‘B.A’ is clean. Topsides not so good. MrsG will let me recommence clean ship once alongside as I’m presently on watch on the helm Griff
