  1. So, due to the national emergency announced last night by Boris - That's me and MrsG confined to our home. I have emailed everyone in my work diary for the next three weeks that I now cannot attend to the jobs booked in. So far all have been understanding. It looks like the pair of us are now out of work and not earning even just 1p over the coming weeks. Being self employed apparently I am 'Entitled' to £94 per week. No doubt by the time I get the form filled in and back through the system, it'll be more than 3 x weeks down the road. I can do just a half days work if I choose to do so in a property that is unoccupied but that is only a half day to complete the prepwork. Might as well seeing as there will be zero social contact. Three weeks confined to our home? - Should be a breeze, treat it like a holiday. I certainly spent many times that period out at sea in a past life Griff
  2. It's dire and as of the PM's broadcast to the nation a few minutes ago it is real here and now. Griff
  3. Update from Mags:- As things stand at the moment Alan's funeral will be held at 4 pm on Wednesday 25 March, at Stafford Crematorium immediate family only. 5. Just seen on FB that Richo’s are now shut for the foreseeable. no idea if this includes private boat owners or not Griff
  6. She doesn't read the forum does she? I probably wouldn't be here if she did Griff
  7. 'They' have shut 'My' pub The Harvey Arms in Finningley. It stayed open during WWII, this is proper serious. I only go once a week (Well - I used to) now that's gonner. MrsG will now have me home every evening seven days a week. At least that's a benefit for her, lucky lady that she is Griff
  8. On way home, called in at a small village store (Finningley) and YES - A packet of red Lentils - MrsG - Brownie points in the bag. Plenty of milk, no loafs but got some rolls. didn't even look to see if any bog rolls on t shelfs. Sadly no Lurpak spreadable but I'm on it. I get our eggs from a local farmer and have 1/2 doz a week put by for me at only £1:00 - Bargain Griff
  9. Update from Mags:- Boycee (Alan) funeral next Wednesday, 1600 - cremation. Due to the circumstances of CV it's for close family only. However there will be a video link on the day so we can all watch. Mags will find out the details for that. Also there will be as memorial service at a later date. Anymore info I will let you know straight away Griff
  10. Today at around 1130 I had to visit my Tile supplier in Donny, about six miles from where I am currently toiling. So enroute I called in at Asda (Other outlets are available in Donny) to get some red Lentils and Lurpak spreadable - failed on both accounts. It was unnerving to see so many empty shelves What was a tiny bit concerning was the state of the traffic leading into Donny, through the centre and out t'other side. There was hardly any at all, it would normally be buzzing It was like a scene from some sort of apocalyptic film. On the upside it made my journey very easy and extremely quick too I have informed my MrsG that plenty of bedroom Olympics will keep the CV at bay. Her reply? - You're gonna catch it then! Griff
  11. Chuck Berry - Well assuming Pete has done a matching pair, one for each model then they will of course 'Ding-a-Ling' Griff
  12. Bog Roll - We have plenty in stock from previous purchases before it became more rare than a sunny bank holiday I also have plenty of the large blue paper roll - Yes this can also be used with the onboard macerator as it breaks down very easily. The problem is trying to find as toilet roll holder big enough to house it. I did suggest to Cinc-Home that if we run out of normal bog roll, that I could put a couple of screws in the (Tiled - obviously) bathroom wall with some baler twine through a roll - This has been vetoed - Can't think why What we are struggling to buy is Lurpak spreadable butter and red lentils - Why there should be s shortage of red lentils I have no idea Griff
  13. An alternative to genuine bog roll is the trade large blue paper rolls available from Arco, Screwfix and the like. Make sure you get the proper soft weak stuff that will break down easily. I have loads of it that I use for work and onboard. Griff
  14. Update from Mags:- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A big heartfelt thank you to everyone on the NBN for their lovely caring comments. The funeral can't be held a the moment with the virus Mags will let us know when it will be held, where and when ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Griff
  15. Understandable - Gutted all the same. I had every intention of attending other than being infected of course Griff
  16. Great write up Lathams:- whilst wife and son went shopping in Lathams for the milk, came back with God knows what, wants to go back in the morning. I'm going too with a padlock on my wallet. You see, that is standard procedure for all newbies entering those hallowed doors of Lathams. Once you have exited having bought all sorts of paraphernalia that you didn't know you needed - You become a lifetime member and are now allowed to call it by its membership name - La'Tharms Good luck with keeping the padlock on the wallet for the next visit - You will fail miserably like the rest of us have done many times Griff
  17. Well if it ever comes to it Griff and you do a secret bid so that the winner wins a weekend on BA, and the winning bid goes either to the Network, Charity, Yorkshire tea and shotgun cartridge fund, I'm in. Like it Many a true word spoken in jest Griff
  18. Heyup Sithee, I have just donated £10 via paypal to the forum funds on behalf of Wherrynice. I don't think I purchased any NBN stickers, but if I inadvertently did so, please don't send them to me. (Already have them) Thanks, Griff
  19. Ok, Update from Mrs Boycee (Mags) Funeral arrangements will be notified as and when if they are allowed to have one - C.V issues. They are hoping to plan an event to mark his life sometime later on in the year on the Broads Griff
  20. Yes , those same words every time ’Heyup Griff, you alright son’? followed by his smile when he got the affirmative. He once introduced me to a full clientele in the Nelson Pub to perform a full rendition of ‘Ilkley Moor BarTat’ He did this without informing me before hand. He had that smile and wicked wink. Stitched me up good n proper. I’m so glad now that I have that cherished memory Griff
  21. It is with a sad and heavy heart that I must notify the NBN that the Legend that is Boycee left us earlier this evening. Another one too soon. Condolences to his family Griff
