BroadScot
Just saw on the news that Ronnie Corbett has passed away aged 85. I saw him playing at Turnberry in the BBC golf prog. Lovely wee bloke and brill with Ronnie Barker. RIP.

NeilB
Very sad news, 2016 has been a bad year for music and entertainment. I'm going to light these for him now...

vanessan
Sad news, I think he should have been awarded a knighthood years ago for his service to entertainment. Some of the best sketches ever from him and Ronnie Barker IMO.
Poppy
85 - almost as old as most of his jokes 'Forkhandles', the sketch which most seem to remember him for was actually written by ...... Ronnie Barker - the real funny man of the duo.
Oddfellow
That's a rather uncharitable comment, Poppy. The majority of popular music track that make it are not written by the artist, but it is the artist that is remembered. When an actor passes, few people comment on the fact he was only reading somebody else's work. Much of the Two Ronnies work was written by other comedians (not just Barker and his pseudonym Wiley) Corbett played his part so, so well throughout. Another tragic loss.
Poppy
Some were fans, many were not, myself included.
JennyMorgan
I wouldn't say that I wasn't a fan, I was, to a degree. Simple, enjoyable, sometimes obvious humour, but rarely amazingly clever. A likable man, easy to warm to, always worth a smile and sometimes a laugh. Just not in the same league as John Cleese, for example. I liked Corbett as a person, it would be hard not to.
