Wussername
May I take this opportunity to inform all new members to the forum and in particular those who are new to the Broads, that this thread or topic demonstrates why the authorities have seen fit to impose strict speed limits on our rivers and Broads. Because of us, everybody has to travel at 4mph or at most 6mph. Breydon................do what you like. We dont go there. Our wives don't allow us. JennyMorgan
Andrew, we write slow just so 'furriners' can understand what we say but we only go slow in our motor boats because 'furriners' tell us to! Anyway, no speed limits on sailing boats, whoopee, we might have straight family trees but we aren't that slow! Have a larf on Nor-fick:
loribear
**** I'M ALL WORN OUT **** I'm suppose to still be young at least that's what i'm told another year has just gone by and i'm 53 years old , well my body's in need of repair as my bones are getting weak my joints are always creaking i'm abit like an old antique , my back keeps giving me pain and my eyes are going as well i'm starting to get some wrinkles it's old age i can tell , i keep coming out in hot flushes and i'm suffering weight gain too i think they call it the menapause and it's making me feel quite blue , and if i had to pass a test like a car at an MOT i'd be thrown onto the scrapheap as i'd fail miserably . this is my version of old age, a poem i wrote last year haha. lori

I use to think nothing of going round a 6800yard golf course twice in a day. Or bowling 20 overs in a 50 over game. These days without the modern aids like my pal "SCOOT" and my car I would be stuck at home. This however does not stop my old grey cells from keeping an eye on the Forum. I am sure most of us, if not all of pension age, still are as alert if not as able as they were forty plus years ago! Yours, a recycled teenager! And they say do sport It keeps you fit... They don't tell you of the consequences later...

I met some amazing people when I did play sport. Iain

I met and played with future Test players, Tv stars, and many Pro golfers. I did have the odd visit to A&E to get my left ankle strapped up, but was fortunate that my mum was a nurse, so she carried out most of the running repairs! Broadsword
At nearly 57, I'm clearly still a youngster... I have always enjoyed this gem though...
