Guest
Thursday 21st December An even more misty morning began after a lie in until 8 Morning jobs again sorted and a relaxed morning led to a 10.30ish start under Somerlayton swing bridge and down the Waveney along with the river mist. Beware of the rogue finger getting in the shot
Guest
Reaching the meeting of Oulton we continued down the Waveney passing the Waveney River Centre Which if I really squeezed in I think we could have got a spot Carrying on down the Waveney, no prizes for guessing our destination we even passed another boat on the lower Waveney. I think that puts the weeks total at
Guest
And finally at Beccles, where it was busier than expected, but we managed to bag a spot, and rogue finger got in the way once again. After a bit of shopping for supplies the mist thickened

SwanR
Lovely photos. The river is so still. It doesn't matter if it is cloudy and grey, there is still a beauty to the rivers and a serenity that you get nowhere else in our busy lives.

Guest
After assisting 'the boy' to make a lovely Bolognese it dawned on me that the properties around Beccles YS haven't put much effort into the Christmas Lights.. ... come on guys I know the picture by my phone isn't great but they weren't much better in reality
Guest
Anyway, I am sure you have all had enough of me for one day, tomorrow I am thinking maybe Brammerton. Yes it will be timed badly so fighting the tide the whole way meaning it will take about 15 hours, but hey, I am up for it. Jay
LizG
Just like Mr & Mrs Nog's winter tales, we never have enough of winter stories. Note I never finished my September tale and I doubt I ever will. Keep the pictures coming. Liz

If you got off at 8 you might pinch a bit of time. But I think the tide wont start flooding up the Yare until after 1 o'clock so you would be pushing it. I reckon at this time of the year you would need pretty much the full day, particularly going against the tide. Put the kettle on and relax. Or do a Griff and put a load of rum in the coffee Good luck and look forward to your report!!!

I think its a drop of coffee in the rum Thanks, I shall try and time it for reference, but I am so disorganised I will probably have forgotten where I was planning on heading by the morning and end up at Geldeston....... Guest
Friday 22nd December Ok so I was up at 7 this morning sorted out what needed sorting, paid for what needed paying for and set off at 8.10 after being delayed talking to a fisherman from the local area and delaying my departure. Anyway as said departure time was 8.10. The weather was dry but cloudy but alone with everyone else in bed I set off heading to Bramerton
NorfolkNog
Nice one! I did suggest an early start Keep us posted. I see the Lotto boat is moored there. It sure gets around. I have heard whispers on the rhond that you do get some 'characters' moored around there in winter

Guest
So moving up the Waveney River was pleasant, cool and overcast but I made decent headway. WRC was pretty much empty again and we reached the Oulton turn off around 9.30ish
Guest
Continuing on I passed under Somerlayton bridge with plenty of room, I had now been fighting against the current since WRC and was looking forward to having it's assistance from Reedham. Before that though it was time for my 4th trip of the week along the new cut.....
Guest
As I approached Reedham It ended up a little congested, and would my little feathery friends move out the way? No. Once clear we passed through Reedham and up the Yare
Guest
Reaching Reedham I took a detour and headed into Bargate for a scenic route, before heading back onto the main river and onwards towards Norwich.
Guest
For what I believed to be the final stretch from Reedham to Bramerton seemed to absolutely fly by, passing The Ferry House on our way
NorfolkNog
You've done well there JF I don't think the early start did you any harm Great pictures as always I think you meant Brundall in the last bit? Just wish we were still there!
