No, it's a rudd! It looks like the bottom jaw protrudes further that the upper and there appears to be a tinge of gold on the flanks. Am I right, maybe! Re interbreeding in Norfolk, well, you might just be right!

To me it looks like some kind of hybrid between maybe a Rudd and a bream. I agree that the mouth is quite Rudd-like but the overall body shape is more like that of a bream.

I would never be so unkind to the people of Norfolk to think that. 

Anyway, not sure about this rudd talk. 

Here's another pic and if you zoom in on the mouth I don't see a ruddy mouth. (if that makes sense)

It even smelt like a roach.

Bang on as Big Bream says. Roach/Bream hybrid the number of scales on the lateral line is the giveaway.
