ExSurveyor
I have always fancied a pontoon home. Not sure they are easy to site on The Broads.

ExSurveyor
The biggest restriction would be connecting to drainage as most don't have holding tanks and they tend not to be easy to move on our rivers. They are very popular in the London residential moorings. I have been talking to a company that are building a pontoon type boat that has an intergrated treatment system in the floats, very clever system. These things are not cheap but do offer superb accommodation and a very high spec.

JennyMorgan
Inevitably I fear that any approved houseboats will only be available to very well heeled folk. Personally I would like to see a few flooded marshes with community, floating home projects for those on a budget. It could so easily have happened at Jenner's Basin/Thorpe Island.
